This is not the same boxed universal pre-filter from Honeywell that I usually get. The material seems denser, and it has less charcoal/carbon stuff on it/in it. It also came in a flimsy bag, not the box displayed here. It smells sort of chemical-ish, not neutral like the boxed Honeywell universal replacement filters. I also had to cut it more, so the dimensions are different than the official universal filter replacement from Honeywell.
Beware that it says "Honeywell" in quotes, and isn't the real stuff. Next time I will buy the official Honeywell brand pre-filter, which is excellent, and doesn't make any chemical type of smell when installed for the first time.

I came back to these name branded after trying some cheaper generic carbon filters. The generic filters had inconsistent thickness, and were a pain to cut to size. These come scored so you can just tear them to the right size.
