Purchased this "very" light and compact travel pillow before extended Italy trip. Excellent size for lower back support. Compactness, material quality and velour feel are best features of this product. Used on 25 hours of flight time for great neck support and rest. I found that by putting the cord into the seatbelt along with the snap connection on the other end, I was able to have the unit not move at all during the flight on whichever side I used it. That way one didn't bother with the seat-back and possible disturbance of passengers seated directy in back. I discoverd this was actually better because the cord is strong but slippery nylon and wouldn't stay properly adjusted on the seatback anyways. Valve works very well; I forgot to deflate when I demonstrated to my travel companions at our destination and it stayed inflated for three days! Easy to adjust for cabin pressure increase by simplly blowing in or letting air out during flight to find the best level of support comfort. Both my wife and I used and found great for neck support in condunction with seat back. Kept head from falling to the side or forward in the seat reclined position. Great size and feel. Used in conjunction with the Therm-a-Rest Lumbar pillow, cheap soft earplugs and sleep mask... and I was most comfortable and pain free in ecomomy class seating. My wife and I are currently in Rome having just flown from LA. I am a terrible sleeper on planes and always wake up from trying to sleep with a stiff neck. I saw the reviews here on Amazon and thought I would try this pillow out (I also bought one for my wife). On the plane we felt a little silly blowing them up and strapping them to the back of our seats (our planes had video players on the back of them, so we had to strap them on the groove that runs along the top of the seat where the built-in-pillow meats the seat. That worked just fine). After we started using them, however, we didn't care what they looked like. Now, I am not going to lie and say it felt like sleeping on a bed or anything like that, but it was a huge improvement over U-pillows. I still had a hard time sleeping (because I do not like flying very much), but at least now I had a comfortable neck. If I were a more relaxed flyer, I would have slept well. The thing I like the best is that it offer a stable place to rest your head - supporting both your head and neck.
When I ordered from the company, I called them up because I was in a rush and needed to confirm a shipping date. I actually talked to the inventor for a few minutes. He is a great guy and is proud of his product. If you fly a lot of have a long flight upcoming, I would give this pillow a try.

The product:
it takes about four easy breathes to inflate, just push in the valve and it is airtight and ready. rap the rope around the top of your seat and press the black plastic and pull on other side of rope and it will tighten around the seat and stay on your side. you can leave it there during your entire flight.
my story:
i went to Europe twice in q4 of 2009. the first time without this product and i had a terrible flight. couldn't sleep (even with alcohol). in fact, my long trip from west coast U.S. to Geneva, Switzerland had me awake for 24 hours; LITERALLY. so, i did some research for my second cross Atlantic trip and found this product. my second trip i had the travel rest pillow; and my flight experience was significantly improved. this product doesn't interfere with your seat neighbor and yet you can leave it there the entire flight. it is so comfortable and it is literally brilliant perfection that should be in the arsenal of every cross Atlantic, cross pacific, or cross country airplane passenger; even if for only one trip.
tip: get this pillow on the seat immediately when you get to your seat. make sure it is positioned on the side you want it. when you are ready to use it, i found that hugging the product was more comfortable for me.

Buy it! you'll love it.
This pillow is very comfortable and so different than the old style. It inflates in about three puffs and deflates in about 2 seconds too. You can use it as a pillow as pictured. However, you can also use it as a traditional pillow behind your neck or even on your lower back to fill that pesky negative space that can be so uncomfortable on a long flight.
I love that this deflates and rolls into a very small, neat "roll" to fit easily into my purse or carryon bag. It can even just snap onto the handle of the carryon for easy access!
I've had a dozen or so of those donut pillows and have even given them away at my final destination to someone continuing on, so I wouldn't have to store them!
Trust me on this one. You're will not regret purchasing this item.
It's wonderful and would be useful even to someone who sits a lot at the computer or possibly in a wheelchair. A great design.
In the unlikely event that you should have trouble inflating it the first time; give it a little tug and a twist and you're good to go! This happened to me and I contacted TravelRest and they were able to help with this above tip. They responded within thirty minutes at 10 p.m.!! Talk about customer service!

When airline employees travel we fly stand by, which means we end up with the last seats on the plane, usually a middle seat next to strangers. I've never been able to comfortably fall asleep on a plane for fear my head would nod on to the stranger next to me (or theirs on me). The TravelRest pillow has solved that problem. Not only did it provide the necessary privacy from the person next to me, it supported my head and neck and allowed me to relax and sleep.
The first time I used it, by the time I got into my middle seat the person at the window was asleep. Not wanting to wake them in order to attach the cord to the seat, I wore my pillow. I liked hugging it across my chest, but also put it on the side and leaned into it. It made me feel cozy and `tucked in'. I was also able to move it from one side to the other without bothering the people around me.
While working, I've seen so many people bobbing their heads or leaning on the stranger next to them, this pillow would solve that problem. It can also be used in the gate areas while waiting for your flight, as well as on buses, trains or cars. The fact that it is so compact when deflated is an added bonus. I highly recommend everyone get one of these pillows.
