Like alot of us have, my husband and I have used our share of can openers; one that we had was a KitchenAid mixer attachment. I liked it but was hard to keep clean. Anyway, when we saw this one on Amazon, we decided to get it. It is the best can opener we have ever used, easy to clean and works every time. Like another reveiwer stated, you can always find it; you don't have to spend 15 minutes looking through drawers for an opener.
If you are rough on appliances and kitchen tools like we are, get this VERY durable can opener; get more than one for when the first one FINALLY wears out.

I wish I had one of these years ago. I could have saved a lot of money on all of those electrics that never really worked all that well and the handhelds that are just too ez to spill the contents of the can. Any one that can pick up a can will be able to use this thing, it doesnt require any superhuman strentgh and it will hold up even large cans, needs a good mounting surface, I have mine screwed to the side of my cabinet next to my sink. I think it is very well built and should last me my lifetime and then some. Sometimes the original is the best this is one of them.Customer Review: The Ultimate

If you open a lot of cans, and have a place to install it, this is the easiest and fastest consumer-grade opener there is. No more fumbling and mis-fires. A joy to use and much less effort than any hand-held model.
Does require a solid mounting surface - ideally a (wood) wall cabinet, or a base cabinet. You'll need to be able to swing it out of the away lest it become a safety hazard.
If you don't have a place to mount it, get the hand-held Swing Away as the cutter/gear mechanism for the wall mount and hand-held are identical.

If you need to open cans and have a good space to mount it, this is the can opener to get. Just put a can in it, crank the handle a few times (easy) and your done. Its a pleasure to use, a solid unit but not bulky. It swings out of the way when you dont need it. Its not going to get lost and you dont need to spend time looking through a drawer for that can opener. My can operner is an off-white color...not as strong a beige as the one in the picture. Over the years I had been either annoyed or frustrated with every electric canopener I had purchased. Luckily I didn't have many cans to open, but on the occasion that I needed to open one, no canopener seemed to work right. I bought this canopener out of frustration and was I pleasantly surprised. It's silent, smooth, easy, and not annoying!! It takes no effort to crank the handle and then easily swings away to be flush with the wall. I only wish I had more cans to open!
