Customer Review: Just in time for pecan season!

We have several pecan trees and cracking the nuts is tedious. I actually had a large bag of whole pecans, in their shells, still in my freezer from two years ago! Before, I was using hand held nut crackers, which do not keep a grip on the slippery pecan shell, and are very slow going. I usually resorted to an old fashioned hammer to shell my pecans!
The Harold Imports Reed's Rocket Nutcracker is pretty nifty. It's sturdily made and really does crack that nut open! You do have to use a bit of force - so be careful that your finger isn't in the slot, or you'll definitely hurt yourself with this gadget.
It's faster than any other variety of nutcracking devices I have ever seen; effortless and easy. It is messy, so I am going to start shelling some pecans outside to avoid the hassle of cleaning up afterwards.
Overall, a good investment and a good motivator. Hopefully this years crop of pecans won't end up in the freezer for two years!
