Despite all the good reviews this product got I was still skeptical because it was so cheap, but I have to say that they work really really well regardless of what I use them to grind. I like that you get three different sizes for what you would pay for one mortar and pestle retail. You can use each one for a different purpose if you were afraid of cross contamination. They are ceramic, but very sturdy and heavy. It is a good product.Customer Review: usability

i used them right away.. grinding up herbs.. they work wonderfully. i have seen the same item for 39.99 for the set
your price seems to low.. but they do the job.

This is my first set of mortars and pestles. That being said, I have used them on a regular basis since receiving them. A set of three different sizes for less than fifteen dollars is a fantastic deal.
