I never thought I would be IN LOVE with a machine but I am!! My husband and I received our juicer at the end of May and we have not stopped juicing since that time! I juice on a daily basis. I juice everything possible! I have never owned a juicer before but did a lot of research and found that everyone seemed to love this one. I also noticed that it was very expensive but you know the old saying you get what you pay for and this juicer is worth every $300 that we paid for it!!! The clean up is an easy process especially when compared to others on the market. It has a slow speed and fast speed for juicing. You can virtually put anything into the chute because it is so large. The only things I have had to cut are the beets I get that are 4" to 5" big. But anything that is 3" there is no cutting required. It juices fast, efficent and like I said very little clean up. The little waste recepticle holds at least 5 to 10 lbs of material that isn't the juiceable part. If I am juicing a large amount of vegees after 5 mins or so I give it break for a couple of minutes and I do that only because I want to keep this machine forever and don't want to overdo it but that's just me. If you want a good juicer, one that does what you want it to do then this is the one for you. It does take up counter space and I know because I have a very little kitchen but my juicer is out 24/7 and I love it. I don't mind the counterspace being used, all I did was put away the stuff I don't use daily. Anyway...I hope you take your chances on this one because you will not regret it at all!Customer Review: very efficient

There's a lot of positive reviews here, which is why I bought this one. It works great and makes juice very efficiently. Cleanup is not hard but it does involve washing four or five complex pieces. Therefore I prefer to employ the dishwashing machine and consequently I tend to use this machine only once a day. It would be better if it were somehow simple enough to rinse it off and reuse it throughout the day but simply rinsing it would take several minutes because it is sufficiently complex to take some effort.
I compared this to Grandma's Juice Factory 2000 and Waring Pro juicer. All these machines work on the same principle as most juicers. However, the lesser machines do not automatically cast out the pulp and therefore they can only produce so much juice before they must be dissembled to remove the pulp. I did not regret spending more for the superior Breville -- although I am sure there are cheaper juicers with this feature, the Breville's many other qualities stack up to make it worth the price.
The pulp is usually fairly dry except with citrus. This isn't the best type of machine for citrus juices like orange juice anyway because it doesn't allow any pulp through the fine screen. It does however produce very good juice from citrus peels or rinds -- which can be bitter but useful in some respects.
This juicer is great for apple juice. Small apples are best and the ones from our own tree produced a super sweet syrup. The taste is nothing like the filtered and cooked juices from the store.

I am not going to go into great detail about features but I will say that I now have a 20 oz. glass of fresh vegetable juice every morning as part of my daily routine. This is coming from a man who rarely ate vegetables (especially raw veggies). I also seem to enjoy snacking on raw veggies such as carrots, snap peas, radishes which I do not think I would be doing if I wasn't out veggie shopping for my juice; however, I cannot attribute raw veggies snacking to having the juicer ;)
I am sure there are many other juicers (I reviewed quite a few online)but I am so pleased with this one.
Amount of juice:
I get 20 oz. juice from 2 carrots, 2 tomatoes, 4 celery stalks, 1/3 cucumber and 1 cup spinach.
Ease of use:
Very simple - we've joked about juicing pizza and burgers as I believe this thing could handle it :)
I juice most everything on the high setting and it takes very little effort to put veggies through and even less for fruits. Although, I rarely juice fruits.
Ease of cleaning:
Parts rinse clean nicely with hot water and the grate is fairly easy to clean when using the brush that comes along with the machine and hot water. I also put all the components in the dishwasher once a week or so for thoroughness.
I spend 15 minutes total to get veggies from fridge, wash team, juice them, rinse/clean all juicer parts, reassemble.
One thing is the plastic parts will "cloud" up over time but vinegar and baking soda take care of that.

Several years ago I purchased a juice machine that used a paper filter in the rotating catch basket, it did a good job of juicing but was a pain to clean and maintain not to mention having to prepare the fruit in small pieces to feed the machine. After using it for about a year it ended up on the back shelf , for the past ten years, never to be used again and to be place in our yard sale this spring. I found the Breville on Amazon and thought I would give juicing another go. The first time I used it I was convinced that I had probably purchased the top of the line juicing machine. My wife loves it because we no longer throw any fruit or vegatables away, just as they are about to get over ripened we run them through the Breville and enjoy a very healthy and tasty morning drink. Our grand kids don't care for eating fruit to much but they really enjoy the juice that grandpa lets them help make.
If this sounds like a paid announcement I apologize, I am not a salesman but when I find a quality buy I know it. This machine gets a five star rating for its quality of construction as well as the ease of use and clean up. The added tip to put the plastic bag in the catch container works very well to cut down on the clean up time. I use a biodegradible bag so we can throw the whole thing in my wifes composter in the greenhouse. Nice job Breville! And to make this sound even more like a commercial ad. I also purchased one for my health nut daughter and she loves it for her family. Healthy grand kids are happy grand kids.

I bought the juicer over 3 months ago. I read each and every review (at the time there was just over 100 reviews!) I followed each topic on cleaning, noise, preferences, etc. And all I can tell ya... the only thing they coud do to improve this machine is to have it self clean!! It's sooooo easy to clean. When I juice I have my hot/soapy water ready as I start juicing. It takes only a few minutes to rinse the unit and clean it. And juicing is soooooooo quick!!! I use the juicer just about every morning. I make both a veggie and fruit drink... about a quart each. It juices so quick and effortlessly. Mind you... since I started juicing I've lost 23 lbs!! And the energy I feel in the morning after I've drank the fruit/veggy juice is sooooo amazing!! I've kind of followed Natalie Rose's advice on modifying my eating habits. Basically it counterdicts traditional eating habbits as you start off the day light with a veggie/fruit drink and for lunch you eat a little heavier meal with dinner being the heavies meal. She believes in quick in and quick out leads to a healther person and less fat. And the cool thing is I eat all the things I've always enjoyed!!! And after all the use I've put on this machine... it still looks brand new!! When I share my juice with my friends they can't believe the flavor of the juice!! My apple/mellon/carrot/parsnip drink is soooo delicious and creamy!! It kind of reminds me of the Orange Julius's I use to have as a kid with the way it turns out so creamy. I highly recommend this unit to everyone!!
