I bought a Green Bottle 25 oz bottle from another store, not Amazon. It came with 2 tops; I use the flip top only because I don't want bacteria from "backwash" to get into the water I drink. I discovered that you have to put the cover on tightly to avoid leaking, not such a big deal anyway. I haven't had a problem with metallic taste/smell; I soaked it in a vinegar/water/baking soda solution for 2 days and the paint is fine. For those wondering about the paint, [...] tells you all about it.
I haven't dropped mine so I can't speak to that issue. I will definitely buy another one from the same retailer.
