Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of The Da Bird Value Pack (Includes 1 Da Bird Original Single 3 Foot Pole Cat Toy & 2 Replacement Feathers)Customer Review: Best cat toy ever! Summary: 5 Stars
I can't believe how much my cats like this toy, even the cynical, hardened, I-can't-be-bothered tomcats. It took me a while to get the hang of making Da Bird fly (once airborne, you can make the feathers quiver and rotate like a fishing lure), but I could play with the kitties for hours, and they'd never tire of it. We now have 15 minutes of play time at least twice a day, and they are sleeping better and squabbling less often -- and with 6 cats, that's an improvement.
I have seen some seriously impressive cat acrobats in the last 24 hours, since Da Bird arrived on our doorstep. Most amusing is when they catch it. They get this look on their face (*my* dead bird!) and they trot off to an isolated location (with me trailing behind, holding onto the wand), so they can kill it. When play time is over, I have to hide Da Bird in a closet or they'd never let it rest. Best $10 I EVER spent on my cats. Ever.
Customer Review: My cats love this toy! Summary: 5 Stars
This toy is one of the best items I have ever bought for my cats. They're pretty finicky and they haven't taken to other toys or cat items. This toy they love. They both perk up whenever I bring it out and are willing to play with each other during this time (they typically stay as far away from each other as possible). They love the noise it makes in the air which is supposed to mimic the sound of a bird flying.
I recommend putting it away in the closet because the cats will destroy the bird attachment fairly quickly. They love tearing it to pieces on its own. I also recommend getting the value pack since I've already had to attach a replacement feather and it's only been about 2 months since my purchase. (This might be because I didn't put it in the closet.)
I have no regrets and I will be always purchasing this toy for my cats and any future cats that come into my life.
Customer Review: Cat can't get enough! Summary: 5 Stars
After reading all the reviews we decided to purchase the original Da bird for our kitty. She occasionally plays with toys and really likes strings, but she spends most of her day lounging around and isn't very active. From the minute we took Da bird out of the packaging, she never even takes a break from playing with it. I don't think we've ever seen her so engaged with a toy or jump and leap so high!! In fact, we have to put it away in the closet so she can't tear it up. The cap on the end of the pole doesn't want to stay on, but it's nothing that a little electrical tape can't fix. We both agreed that this was the best money we'd ever spent on cat toys and after she goes through the replacements, we will indeed buy more. I don't know who is more entertained- our cat or us watching our cat!! Highly recommended!
Customer Review: Da Bird is Da Bomb Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased Da Bird a few years ago and my cats enjoy it. The long pole makes it SO much easier on their mom's back :) They weren't really too into the feathers so I tried the mousie, tah-da, they love it. I'm convinced that this is what trained them to be such great mousers, as cats need to be taught how to hunt, it's not instinctual.
Once they destroyed this mouse I bought a case of catnip mice - the ones wrapped in rabbit fur - I poke holes though the nose part and insert a small tie wrap to secure it the da pole. Cats LOVE it and it is cheaper than continually buying the "real" attachments.
RE: fiberglass splinters - my cats aren't interested in the toy unless I'm holding it, so chewing hasn't been an issue. If your cats chew then put the toy away when not in use.
Customer Review: My cat loves this toy Summary: 5 Stars
I got the Da Bird value pack about 4 weeks ago and my active 5 month old kitten went nuts over it the moment I took it out of the package. It was like he was manic. I had never seen him act this way. I do what others recommend and put it away when we're not playing with it and every time I take it out, he gets very excited and plays like crazy. He chases it all over and tries to take it to hiding places when he gets it. I haven't had to replace the feather yet but I'm glad I got the replacement feathers for when this one is demolished. He really bites it but it's holding up well. I just ordered the furry attachment to attach to the pole but haven't gotten it yet. If he reacts to that like he does to the feathers, we'll have another great toy. I recommend this to all cat owners.
