This toy is the best cat toy I own. I have seven persian cats and they go wild for it. I never thought a cat could jump as high as my guys do to try to get the 'bird' on the end of the wand, they really think it is a real bird, and it does look pretty real when you are swinging it around. I got the single pole one as opposed to the two piece, as I felt it would be sturdier, and I keep it in a cabinet in the kitchen. My cats know the sound of that cabinet opening and they actually come to the cabinet and cry for me to get 'Da Bird' out and play with them. The sellers of this toy, Cool Cybercats, are wonderful people who I actually met online and had a very warm conversation with. The only warning on this toy...it can be addicting to your cats, they will LOVE it...just don't play with it near any furniture and try to keep your cats spaced apart because they jump so furiously for it they can get hurt if they jump into furniture or each other. I promise you they will go nuts for it. I am not sorry I got it at all.Customer Review: This will drive your kitties crazy!!

My cat went CRAZY over it the moment I took it out of the shipping box!! She usually gets tired after 2 laps around a small coffee table, but with this, she kept jumping and chasing... and could't stop playing until I put it away an hour later! (Yes, I got tired before her!) The toy has such a simple structure; feathers attached to a string, and the string attached to a rod... but what makes it unique is that the feathers spin around and fly as if it's a real bird when you swing it.
I think there're two kinds of this product though; the one with a single long rod, and the other one that comes in two parts of the rod, that you need to attach (assemble) them to use it. Get the single rod one, it's much better. The detachable one breaks apart easily and doesn't work as well.
My cat loved it so much that I got some more for my family's cats, and they're totally in love with it as well! This is the best cat toy ever. Buy it! It's cheap and totally worth it. MEOW!!

I have used Da Bird with several cats, including my three kitties, and my daughter's five cats. From small lithe active kitties to slow chubby cats, they go NUTS! The small active kitty did a 5-foot vertical leap from a sitting pose trying to get this toy! My cats have done some gravity-defying moves trying to get Da Bird. They played so hard they were panting like dogs! It was soooo funny. And the best thing about Da Bird is you can buy replacement feathers - and believe me you WILL need them! I bought a similar toy before finding Da Bird and my cats tore the feathers up and then it was useless. And your cats WILL tear this up - I have to make sure I hide it well when not in use because my cats have found it and tore it up! And it has a HUGE benefit for humans too . . . stress releaser! Whenever I come home from work stressed out I'll take out Da Bird and my kitties go so crazy they have me cracking up in no time, with whatever was bothering me long forgotten.Customer Review: The Best

Da Bird is, quite simply, the best cat toy ever made. I bought one in hopes of coaxing my 13-year-old overweight female cat into getting a bit of exercise. It was successful beyond my dreams. She cannot resist it. I bought it around the first of July, and we have played with it every single day since (and this is late September). She has lost just over a pound! She seems to be unaware that it is attached to a string on a pole that I control. All she sees is the fluttering motion, which truly mimics a real bird, and she's off! Jumping, swatting, running, crouching, wiggling her behind, pouncing....as if she is a kitten all over again. I reward her with a big fuss (Good kitty! Gooood kitty!!) when she manages to capture it. She does like to chomp it a tad, so I'm on my third replacement bird. That's another great thing about the toy...you can replace just the bird part and not the whole thing. Wonderfully designed. Thanks to all who took pictures of their cats playing with this toy, I ordered one, and before I could get it completely out of the wrapper, my three 6-month-old kittens were dying to know what that feather was. My kitties were a feral litter rescued from under my porch, and being able to connect with them through play was a big part of their socialization. I've gone through a bunch of cat toys and feather teasers and they like them all, but they love this. It drives them mad. The bizarre circus-act leaps and turns they make--wow. As others have noted, let them catch it once in awhile. (You might never get it back whole; it's a bit of work to get them to release it and my kittens growl at me if I try to pull it away.) After I've played with this for awhile and put it away, they get all blissful, stretching out and rubbing themselves on the carpet. I wonder what kind of scent or hormone this play-hunting is releasing? It's really hysterical.
