Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of The Da Bird Value Pack (Includes 1 Da Bird Original Single 3 Foot Pole Cat Toy & 2 Replacement Feathers)Customer Review: Best. Toy. Ever. Summary: 5 Stars
I went shopping for a new toy because our cat's favorite mylar pom-pon fishing rod toy had seen better days, and I wanted to replace it with the Go-Cat "sparkler" attachment.
As long as I was buying the attachment and the rod, I figured I'd throw in Da Bird as well.
It turned out to be the best cat toy in the world. Here's why:
1) It's designed like a fishing fly, so it spins as it moves through the air and looks like a living thing.
2) There's a little extra weight to it, so it almost swings itself and, again, moves a bit more like an animal than a collection of feathers.
3) The endpiece is interchangeable, so if our cat destroys it (totally possible), we don't have to buy a whole new rod. Plus, we can have multiple attachments without dedicating an umbrella stand to all our cat rods. (Can you say "cat lady chic"?)
4) As noted by other reviewers, the extra-long rod makes it easier on me!
5) The retro Mighty Mouse-esque packaging is kitschy... and not in a self-consciously hip way, but rather a nostalgic, low-cost way that screams, "this toy isn't popular because of its superior marketing."
In conclusion: my cat just played with this toy for a mere 15 minutes, and she exerted herself so much that she can barely keep her eyes open.

Customer Review: Kitty repeatedly requests for it Summary: 5 Stars
I have tons and tons of toys for my cats but they inevitably gets sick of the toy. But no matter how many times they play with Da Bird, they never get sick of this toy. I bought this toy based on the many many good reviews it got. And my cat loves it!
After playing with kitty for a couple of minutes, I can see the appeal. First, the feather flutters when it's up in the air. Second, when I put it in front of a fan, the feather spins and it actually sounds like a bird's flapping wings, plus, it moves with the wind so my cat will start jumping for it. Third, my cat never gets sick of it. In fact, she will come by, charm you with her purring whenver she wants to play with it. She knows which drawer we keep it and she knows how to ask for it.
This is the first toy that she has REPEATEDLY requested to play. I don't think she's ever tried requesting for another toy.
The one con is that it's not the most durable toy - partially because it's not constructed too well and probably because my cat tears it to shreds whenever she gets her hand on it. So we are constantly replacing the feathers and sometimes even the stick if she breaks the string too many times. Basically, you will need to replace it a lot if your cat loves it as much as mine does.
Customer Review: Best cat toy ever Summary: 5 Stars
This is the only product I have ever bought that truly rates a solid 5 - there is absolutely nothing bad you can say about it. It is the best cat toy I have ever found - and I have had cats for the past 25 years. I got my first DaBird back in 1998. I was amazed at how the cats did back flips in the air. I had to hide it in the closet to keep the cats from tearing it apart. The sound of that closet door opening brought them running from all parts of the house, to stand at attention in front of the closet in hopes that the toy would be coming out. Then I didn't use it for several years. But I recently got a new kitten, so I bought a second DaBird plus three replacement heads. Now I have two -- one for each cat. I am getting the same reaction with the new kitten - and my other cat (now 8 years older) still remembers it and I haven't seen her move this much in several years. They are both doing contortions in the air, which is really amusing for us to watch. I still have to keep it in the closet - and they both run when they hear me open the closet door.
My experience with the seller was great - it arrived quickly, well-packaged, and in good condition.
Customer Review: 10+ stars Awesome Product! Summary: 5 Stars
Wow. I had never imagined how well this product would work out. I carefully reviewed the reviews before even purchasing it. My cats LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this toy! It is absolutely amazing how much they have learned to interact with one another and play together. Usually they growl and hiss, but when I bring out this toy, they all have the same goal, and that is to catch it! I foster kittens and this toy has really helped them to all learn how to play together. What is funny is when I go to put the toy away, I leave it in it's original packaging but I have had to move the hiding place twice. They follow me to the closet to put it a away and try to scratch at the box. When I close the door, they sit there all together. In the mornings when I get up, my kitties are not waiting for food, they are at the closet door waiting for me to pull out their toy and play with them. It is AMAZING. I recommend this toy to every cat owner out there, this is the BEST toy you will EVER find. I also highly recommend the value pack, it is the best deal, and you will need those extra packs, because the cats will tear them up real fast.
Customer Review: your cat's new favorite toy Summary: 5 Stars
Our cat has a "been there, done that" attitude towards every toy we've gotten for her. Last week, we brought home Da Bird, and she just can't get enough of it. She'll chase it around until she's panting like a dog, and then she'll keep going some more. I've never seen her run so fast or jump so high! Needless to say, she usually sleeps like a baby afterwards; a nice change of pace.
The only problem is that she now wants to play with it all the time, and she's slowly figuring out that it only comes out once or twice a day. You'll definitely want to find a good hiding place for it, because your cat will tear your home apart looking for it.
UPDATE: After 18 months, the cat still loves Da Bird, and she looks forward to her nightly play time with it, but I'm pretty sure it's mostly because she knows she'll get her wet meal immediately afterward. She still chases it enthusiastically, although now that she's a little older and wiser, she prefers to stalk and pounce on it rather than chasing after it nonstop. Still, she's getting her exercise, and it does cut down on the Midnight Crazies.
