Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Fusionbrands 3-Inch Silicone Poach Pod Egg Poaching Tool, GreenCustomer Review: Great Eggs.. it works! Summary: 5 Stars
To Mr. "silicone does not work for this product" i assume you have not tried this product, or read the instructions on it's use. It clearly states to use a lid on the pot of boiling water. Yes silicone is great at keeping heat at bay, but the lid acts as a steamer, cooking the egg all the way round (top included).
I bought this product as an easy way to make my fav dish (w/o having to spend allot of $) It works great, is very easy to use and clean. No problem getting the eggs out, and they only come out when you scoup them out. So you don't have to worrky about loosing your eggs on the way to the plate :D. Plus they look great! 5 stars in my book!!
Customer Review: Poached eggs Summary: 5 Stars
There had to be a better way to poach eggs than the old method of using a poaching pan with non stick surface that comes off and the eggs stick anyway.
These poach pods are the better way! I got them for my wife but have used them myself and we both love them! Spray them with a little Pam, float them in the pan of water, break the eggs into the pods and cook covered for about 6 or 7 minutes. We take them out of the water with our fingers ... don't need a spoon ... and the eggs fall out onto the plate.
I saw some instructional videos about how to use the pods and the reality is easier than the video.
We love our pods!!
Customer Review: Little Wonders Summary: 5 Stars
I read all of the reviews before deciding to buy these 'little wonders'. I used to be a 'purist' and would only poach eggs in water with a little vinegar added. But the poach pods have changed my mind - I think they are the best things I have ever tried for poaching eggs.
As far as clean up goes - be sure to be liberal when you coat the silicone (I use oil olive spray). If you do that any egg residue cleans right off. I also hook one of the holes over a prong in my dishwasher and then strategically position a small plate or untensil so that the pods won't flip and fill with water during the cycle. Love these little guys!
Customer Review: So cute, and they work! Summary: 5 Stars
Got these yesterday and just used them. My timing was just a touch off - they came out fairly solid - but I'll know how long they'll need next time to come out perfectly poached. I would imagine it all depends on your stove and how set you'd like the whites, but I think 6 minutes will be perfect next time. (I left them in for 7 on this trial run.) But, really, I just sprayed the pods with some PAM, and they popped right out! It was really neat looking through the lid and seeing them bobbing along! (Okay, I'm easily amused.) If you're on the fence, give them a try. I don't think you'll regret it.
Customer Review: Love my Poach Pods! Summary: 5 Stars
So easy to use: just spray a little nonstick in the pod, crack an egg in, lower into gently boiling water, and cover pot. In 4 minutes, you have the cutest, perfectly round poached (coddled?) eggs!
Something to pay attention to, though: I noticed a dismaying plasticky taste in my eggs on first use, even though I'd thoroughly washed the pods before using. It really creeped me out, and I nearly threw the pods away. But after another wash with super-hot water, the plastic taste is gone. Not quite sure what happened there, but I'm glad I gave the pods another shot.
Highly recommended!
