I bought a new Furi knife set and figured I would nip dulling these ones in the bud and buy this. I figured I would not use it for a long time because Furi is a good brand. I got it and I wanted to try it out. I tried it in the regular old pair of scissors I was using as kitchen scissors. This pair was beat up! Only one spot on them actually worked. I know it is made for knives not scissors but it's a new play thing! So I opened up the dull scissors and ran one side down the fingers a few times, I was amazed! I was in my kitchen with 2 friends making them feel each side and how big a difference they were. It's now like I have a brand new pair of scissors! I can't wait to dull my knives just so I can sharpen them!Customer Review: It works

Easy to use and it works as advertised.
I had one really dull knife and I did 6 swipes through the thing as suggested. Didn't do much. I thought the gizmo might not be any good or at least not up to this particular task . Another 10 swipes and this knife is sharp as the deuce.
I'm pleased. Beats trying to get the angle right on a steel or living with dull knives.
You can see the diamond pieces and really feel them sharpening as you pull the knife through the fingers. An ingenious device.
They give you ample warning, but be careful opening the thing. It's plastic and you can break it in an instant if you try to force it the wrong way.

I have never been good at sharpening knives, in fact, I'm down right horrible at it. But with this little bad boy, a few swipes and its better than brand new! I bought this based on my wonderful experience with Furi knives so when received, I immediately went and sharpened one for the "tomato test". It sliced paper thin with no pressure at all!! Proceeded to sharpen another knife and try it on chicken breast, amazing yet again!! Some stated that the plastic was cheap, it actually is a thicker, harder plastic than what I was expecting and I love the fact it is so small that I can have it in the knife drawer. Bought this sharpener on the recommendation from Michael Colemaco of Food Talk. I had a carving knife that I have tried sharpening with different devices and was never satisfied. So for less than $20, I got this device. Wow, I made a prime rib and was able to make paper thin slices. Just a couple of passthroughs did the job. Went like crazy in my kitchen digging out all my knives; I even tried it on my scissors. However, not the easiest to open and close but that is sort of insignificant. And I don't know how long it will last but for the price, who cares. I don't really know if I would use it on the very expensive knives.Customer Review: Perfect Compact Design

When I unfolded this gadget and set it on the counter to sharpen my first knife I immediately realized it had been designed with intelligence. From the placement of the finger guards to the balance when using it, someone took their time to make this handy little tool right.
Note, this is not for resurfacing extremely dull or damaged blades, this gadget is for touching up blades dulled by normal use. And it's convenient enough to make it worthwhile to pull it out every time I start cooking and just give my knives a fresh blade.
I recommend this for all kitchens and kits.
