The best part of this book light is its light distribution. LED light is very very tiny. Even on LED flashlights, often the problem is hotspots. Since the source of light is very small, it is almost impossible to use it for floodlights, unless of course, you use a bunch of them. For a single LED, it is amazing how it can achieve a very even distribution without hotspots. I doubt if you can find many similar products that offers the same value and features as this one has.
Calling it a task light is just appropriate as its use is not limited as a booklight. It requires 3 "AAAs" on its base and uses the weight as a table stand to support itself. The head and the neck is very light. You can position the LED at any angle as you can bend it not only up and down, left and right, it also twists on its metal neck. The switch is located on top of the head. Made in China.
Cons:
- although its strongest feature is light spread coverage. You will still not cover both pages of large books like kids' books and other bigger sized books.
- Batteries not included
Rooms for improvement:
- Only one side of the clip has an anti-slip foam pad. Place it on both sides to further prevent slipping.

I found this item awhile ago at another vendor for twice the price. Even at the higher price it was worth it! I've had many book lights over the years and this one is THE best I've ever used. I first bought one for using at home for reading and quickly returned to buy another for my office. It is great for travel or in the library to supplement low or uneven lighting and it makes a wonderful gift! The soft rubber pad on the base and the gentle-but-firm tension in the clip allows it to be attached instantly to the edge of a book, a music stand, or a clipboard without leaving marks when removed. One of the nicer features is that, unlike many other book lights, it can stand easily on its own on a flat surface. The light beam from this tiny lamp is powerful illuminating a whole page rather than just a small portion. The flexible gooseneck allows the beam to be adjusted easily. Battery life is extraordinary. Using the lamp daily for hours at a time, the beam stayed strong and steady for over 4-5 months. The design and capability of this tiny lamp is just about perfect! Even nicer, it is available in red and blue as well as standard silver. (You can see all colors offered by searching for 'Fulcrum Multi Flex' on Amazon.)

Just went to replace my 5 year old Fulcrum Multi-Flex LED Task Light, Silver-and some how the seach engines took me to the land of the Mighty Brights.
I wrote a review on the MB called: "Could have been a '5 star'." --having used the Fulcrum Multi-Flex LED Task Light, Silver---for soooo many years!
I will highlight it hear why I love THIS light:
ON/OFF Click Switch (used it so many times wore the silver paint off to the red undercoating) The light will not TURN ON and run down your batteries as would a soft touch press switch on the Mighty Bright. It's no fun, when you look in a knap sack and see the light ON, for gosh knows how many hours!) Love the FULCRUM, never a problem with it's industrial style ON/Off Switch.
Balance with the Goose Neck. Perfect balance with the bulb head. I have done 180s and tied knots with this cord connection over the 5 years and still good-electrical connection and the bulb head is supported and balanced.
Price. Very good. Buy 3, give on to a friend. I did.

I ordered this to replace my old light, which was flimsily built, had a non-flexing "flex neck", and had just recently flickered then died (with a good battery). This light is excellent. It uses an optic to evenly distribute light over the entire page. If you move the light up as far as it goes, it will illuminate pretty much any size book (Guiness world records, etc). The flex neck works fine, and stays in exactly the position you put it in. This is the best I've found, regardless of price.
The switch works fine, but I wish it could be tighter. It is a slide switch over the LED. No flickering or failure yet, but it is annoying that there is maybe 5mm of wiggle room before you move the switch mechanism.
I also wish it used coin cells. That's the one thing I miss from my old light - the smaller size. However, I haven't had any problems with the weight while reading, and for many its 3 AAA batteries would be a bonus because of their price.
I've only had this product for around a week, so I can't comment on how long it lasts.

You sit down on your nice comfortable chair with a drink in one hand and a book in the other hand. You are excited to read that great book and go on a reading "adventure". You put the drink down and open your book when all of a sudden...there isn't enough light in the room. You end up squinting trying to read the words on the page, only to get a headache from squinting for so long. This makes you annoyed so you close the book and put it away. This was my case. So I had to buy something to light up my pages.
This book light is great. It conveniently clips on to your book and lights up the pages for you. The upper body of the light adjusts so you can move it any way you like for better lighting. This is also a great way to save electricity, so you don't have to keep your light on for hours while reading. This is a great light for all you book lovers. And now I can enjoy my book without the headache!
