Customer Review: Too noisy

I have had this A/C for two years. The noise the fan makes, even at the lowest setting is intolerable. It cools moderately well, but if you want to read in the same room with this beast, I would suggest wearing earplugs, if you want to watch TV, wear headphones. If you want to have a conversation, forget it. This Spring, I'm shopping around for a quieter model.

The FAC106P1A features electronic controls that is coupled with full-function remote capabilities that gives the consumer the control they love at the remote, not the unit. Cool, energy saver and fan modes, On/Off 24-Hour timer, auto cool and sleep can be programmed with the remote. Electronic controls offer filter check reminder and clean air features. This Frigidaire FAC106P1A Air Conditioner has a 10,000 BTU cooling capacity. It is perfect for large rooms or rooms where supplemental cooling is needed (Up to 500 Square Feet) It features an EER of 10.8. The Variable Speed Fan and 8-Way Air Direction along with Electronic Controls with Full Function Remote makes it very easy to operate. For those with Allergy problems, the Ionizer/Electrostatic Clean Air Filtration ensures a Clean Airflow and with LVC Technology (Low Voltage Compensation), proper operation of the unit is assured when voltage fluctuates below normal levels. Installing the unit is made easy with the Pleated Quick Mount Window Mounting Kit and Filter cleaning is a snap with the Tilt-Out Filter Access Feature. The FAC106P1A is 14- inches in height, 19-inches in width, and 21 1/4-inches in depth, weighs 75 pounds, and uses 115 Volts AC.
