I've been using foodsaver's products for many years now. My whole family uses the stuff, in fact. I've never had problems with any of the products.
As for the canisters, I use them, quite literally, every day. I keep my coffee beans and grounds in them. 2 cans for drip beans, 1 can for espresso beans, and 1 can for espresso grounds. They stay in the fridge, so they experience moderate thermal stress every day. Even with that, however, they are pretty much entirely reliable products. They keep everything fresh, and none of them, not one, has ever cracked, in the 7 or so years I've had them. I use the cans not only for coffee, but for marinating, keeping perishables fresh, and miscellany other stuff. And not one crack. I wonder if Tilia has been selling some bad "batches" of cans, given some of the bad reviews on here, but I certainly haven't seen one do so---and I've put continuous daily stress on them (even the big ones).
The only negative I can think of is when saving coffee grounds. Espresso grounds are so fine, they stick to everything. After awhile, grounds inevitably get onto the seal of the can top, and when that happens, the seal won't hold. This is solved by cleaning it with a wet paper towel.
Other than that, I gotta say: they're indispensable and reliable.
