Heavy enough that it does not tip over and gives a very good light.
The only thing that would be better is if we could switch off the top light on the bottom but for the price it is great.

I have the "Walmart" version of this lamp, so basically the shades are made from plastic and it's neon pink instead of silver. I think this lamp is a genius idea! Its modern looking and matches my room quite well. I can now read books in bed with the reading lamp positioned wherever i want it and dont have to get up to turn it off!Customer Review: Great Lamp

I bought this lamp on sale to match the brushed nickel hardware on a new bedroom set. It was extremely easy to assemble and it has a very sturdy base. I love that I can just use the reading lamp without having the other light on. It is very stylish and provides ample lighting.
