I've about worn out this item and am about to order another. However, reading another review, I see it may just be dirty. There's not much grip on this thing, so I only get a useful stroke in the scissors-opening direction. Again, after reading the other review, I recommend wiping the scissors blades with alcohol before using the sharpener. I get a nicely resharpened edge on all my straight-edge household scissors with this little tool, which costs next to nothing. Put it on your wish list and order one when you have accumulated enough other items to get free shipping!
