This little - big sharpener really does work. It will really sharpen a pair of scissors. We used it on a pair of scissors that someone had tried to sharpen with out the proper tools and almost ruined. While it would not return them to perfect condition it did return them to useful service as utility scissors.
As with the little orange sharpeners, if you have scissors that are just starting to lose their edge, this thing will return them to running shape with only a few strokes. I also like this for people who have a hard time holding onto the little orange sharpeners.

I was skeptical as to whether this sharpener would work. I read the reviews and researched so off I went to purchase this sharpener. This sharpener really does work at sharpening scissors. My scissors were not old; they had small nicks in the blades (which I created by trying to cut artificial flower wire stems) that needed to be smoothen out. This sharpener not only made the blades smooth, but also very sharp (contradiction?)--in other words, I did not have the nicks in the blades issue. I would recommend this product in addition to it being offered at a great price.Customer Review: Sharp little gadget!

This little sharpener really does the trick, if your scissors fit into it. I bought it especially to sharpen a pair of kitchen shears that were short, stubby, and not cutting anything anymore. Just a few strokes on the sharpener made them good as new. At work, my coworker and I went on a tear sharpening all the scissors we could find. What fun! Only one pair could not be sharpened, because the plastic blade guards made them too thick to fit. One day I'll take them apart and use a knife sharpener.Customer Review: No Need to Buy New Scissors

I was about to take my scissors to a professional sharpener or get new ones and ordered this product just to see if it worked. Wow. It does a terrific job. I have several pairs of scissors that have been misused over the years. I was able to quickly sharpen all of them and they now cut everything from paper to the finest fabrics. It seems too simple to work so well.
Before replacing your scissors, try this product, save some money, and keep one more item out of the land fill.

While I've owned many scissors over the years, I never thought to try sharpening them. What a difference this tool makes! It's quick and easy to use. I plan on buying these as stocking stuffer gifts. It's the perfect kind of gift for the people on my list who have everything. My only concern is that the plastic housing feels a little flimsy, but that may not be an issue as it won't be getting heavy use.
