The product was recommended to us a couple of years ago because we have one cat that is ...for lack of a better word...nervous and pulls her hair out on her haunches. It took a couple of weeks for us to notice any behavior change in the cat. Now, she lies near the Feliway, which is plugged into a hall electrical outlet. She is less neurotic and rarely pulls her hair. The change was very noticeable over the first couple of months. Note to the human popultion: there is no aroma that can be detected by humans.
Because of the price in single units, we opted to buy the six pack (and what cat would not enjoy a six-pack? :-) It's cost effective saving a sizable hunk of change over the course of a year. Each Feliway lasts approximately two months and for our cat it has been a good expense. Our other cats also lie down near the Feliway at times, but the one for which the product was intended is the one who "uses" the product the most. I would recommend getting one to try it with a cat before buying in volume.
This is the second time we have ordered the six pack via Amazon and have been extremely satisfied with the product and service.

This product is amazing! I buy it 6 bottles at a time (3 mos supply) here on Amazon and absolutely cannot live without it! I have an elderly female (18 yrs) and adopted a 7-yr-old female from the shelter last November. I tried to introduce them s-l-o-w-l-y and with great care but, oh my, it was cat-fight-central for weeks and I was despairing that it wasn't going to work out. Then I heard about Feliway, bought two bottles at a local store, plugged them in immediately and within 24 hours the fighting began to cease. It's been 9 months now and, while the girls aren't buddies, they are very calm and have learned to tolerate each other. No more hissing and spitting! Now, I will say that when I see that behavior return I just go check the units and sure enough they'll be dry as a bone. As soon as I plug new ones in it's just a matter of hours before things begin to return to peace. I domesticated a litter of feral kittens and now have 4 six-year-old cats. One of the two males came down with urinary crystals and after much veterinary help he got over them. During the recovery I implemented the use of Feliway and also I added a couple of water fountain drinking bowls in addition to their water bowls in several locations.
Three years later, I had let the Feliway run out and thought all was well in the house when the two boys had a couple of rough and tumble fights. I put the Feliway back into the house and since then there have been no further squabbles. I placed it in a location that is central and out of the draft of doors and open windows.
I think it is a good addition to keep multiples friendlier and also to help keep them less nervous during stress times.
Sometimes it takes layers of therapy to keep animals at their best - food, water, environment all make a difference and this seems to help.

This product was recommended to me by someone who works in a local pet store. I told her about the problem I was having with one of my cats after I moved from a house where the cat could go outside all the time to an apartment where he has to stay inside. He had pee'd a couple of times in rather odd places--not on the rug or floor, but in empty containers that were on the floor because of the move. He would also meow a lot for no apparent reason. When I plugged in the Feliway, his behavior changed within a day. As long as I have it plugged in and the container isn't empty, he is a perfect cat. When I ran out after the first month, he started meowing and he pee'd in an empty box. Within a couple of hours after I put in the refill, his behavior went back to normal again.
I've heard that this product doesn't work with all cats, but when it does work, it works very well. It's a little expensive, but worth every penny!
Customer Review: Better than Prozac for "El Gato Diablo" (the devil cat)

My 9 pound cat used to terrorize our 80 pound Pit Bull, try to kill other cats, use the kitchen as her personal litter box, and ignore people unless she happened to feel like biting someone. We used Feliway Plug-In and after about one month noticed a huge difference in her behavior. She no longer terrorizes dogs or people and usually (but not always) pees in her litter box instead of on the floor. She still tries to kill other cats and every so often will go on a spraying binge in the kitchen but she's pretty affectionate with the Pit Bull and with people.
Prior to the Feliway my husband and I tried all sorts of things including giving the cat Prozac but nothing worked as well as the Feliway. My advice to anyone with a truly horrible cat is to give the Feliway at least 1-2 months to fully kick in. I guess the more severe the behavior problems are the longer it takes the Feliway to start working.
