I like making apple pie with Gala apples, but peeling them was my least favorite task. Although the device looks like something from Charlie and the Chocolate factory, the blade is sharp and the action of the mechanism is smooth. A few turns of the handle and my Gala apple was perfectly peeled. Additionally, it came with a slicer and corer I didn't think I needed, but turns out they're very handy as well! With the corer, I think I'll try some oven baked glazed apples. Great tool, highly recommended, unbelievable price.Customer Review: Love it! I'm ordering 10 more for my family and friends!!!

I was very leary about ordering this product. I have had several "miracle peelers" that ended up in the garbage. I thought for $15 I'll give it a try, now I'm so glad I did. I bake pies for a living and those hours and hours of peeling apples for pies are over. I can peel 7 apples for a pie in less than 2 minutes. I'm simply in love with this product and my kids think it is kinda cool looking. I'm getting 10 more, one for a spare for myself just in case it breaks, and the other 9 for my family and friends.Customer Review: MUCH Better than the other model we had

We own a different brand of this as well that is red, has a long post horizontally placed in the middle, and cranks like this one but doesn't work nearly as well. This one is so much easier to use. It's faster, easier to clean, and simple enough that even our five year old can peel apples safely with it (with supervision). Water has gotten trapped inside ours a couple of times. I just rinsed it well and left it on its side to dry.
I recommend this one over the other one we owned.

Starfrit 93013 Pro-Apple Peeler
This apple peeler is easy to assemble, sticks tightly to the counter, and peels an apple of ANY shape or size in an instant! My three - and four - year old grandchildren can easily use the peeler with supervision. The blade is very sharp and one must be careful to place the blade carefully before removing the peeled apple. I have ordered two and both my sisters saw mine and want one of their own. Guess what they are getting for Christmas?

With the holidays just around the corner, and a husband who doesn't like pumpkin pie, this apple peeler is just what the doctor ordered for making apple pie without feeling hostile and resentful (never good things whilst baking!). It's lightweight, simple to use after figuring it out (the blade rotates UP the apple), and does EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you, and the pumpkin-bashing-apple-pie-loving-husband thanks you too. Or he will, once I start baking.
