I can't tell you (nor do I want to know) how much money I've wasted over the years on As-Seen-On-TV type products, but (especially if they're relatively inexpensive), I keep buying and trying. A few actually do work out, but for the most part, not so much. I never would have ordered this particular product were it not for all the rave reviews here, and they were right. I just cooked my first batch of pasta in this thing: 2 oz. of egg noodles. The chart said 9-10 minutes, and since I have a higher wattage microwave (1300w), I did the 9 minutes. They came out perfect - and you could've knocked me over with a feather. I recommend this product for singles or couples only, because it doesn't have the capacity for more than two (standard 2-oz.) servings at a time, but it's so much easier than waiting for water to boil, stirring the pasta to keep it from sticking together, etc., and clean-up is a breeze.Customer Review: convenient and prevents waste

For me, what makes this product nice isn't the time saved (not really much to be honest although you don't have to keep walking back to the kitchen to stir which is nice) but the food saved. I live alone and have a schedule where I don't always eat at home regularly. Cooking a serving or two of pasta on the stove isn't really practical (the "if I'm already getting the pot and strainer dirty, I might as well just cook the whole box" mentality would probably kick in even if instructions for cooking a single serving were included) and I end up throwing out more than I eat after it's been sitting in the fridge for a week. This product is not only insanely convenient but it prevents that from happening which saves food and water every time I use it. And I ca't tell the difference between pasta made this way and pasta made on the stove. Definitely a winner in my book :)Customer Review: My New Best Friend

Yes, the Fasta Pasta is my new best friend. I absolutely LOVE this kitchen gadget - so much so, that I plan on buying one for each of my family members as a "stocking stuffer" gift!
This gadget couldn't be simpler. Measure out your pasta (a food scale is a great tool is you are measuring out pasta such as maccaroni or bow-ties) according to the nice measurement chart. Fill the water to the serving line, and start the micrwave - Presto! In about 15 minutes, your PERFECT pasta is ready to eat!
This is truly a great tool for the kitchen - it's easy to clean, there is no constant stirring, boil-over, steamy kitchen, or getting another pot dirty. It's truly a pasta-lover's dream.
The size capacity works perfect for my husband and myself. A family of four may not get enough pasta in one batch with the Fasta Pasta.

This is a neat little cooker for small quantities of pasta. And, I often need just a little pasta for a salad or soup or a quick lunch with left overs. I like the easy clean-up, no colander to fool with and it really doesn't allow boil over. Ever tried to nuke a little pasta in a covered glass bowl? What a mess!
This won't replace my stock pot and colander for large quantities of pasta but I'm glad I bought this.
ADVICE: First time users need to pay attention during cooking process to notice whether your microwave will cook the pasta in less time than the instructions recommend. If you don't do this you can end up with a container of mush. My pasta is ready anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes before the minimum suggested cooking time.
Perfect for a single person or college student.

Cooking pasta isn't rocket science, but when a product can make your life easier, saves time, uses less energy, and saves water all at the same time, it's got my vote. I'd heard about Fasta Pasta from a co-worker who swore by it- he's a bachelor like me who hates fast food but doesn't like to do a bunch of cooking after working all day (who does?). I really didn't believe that it would work, but bought one anyway. Boy, was I wrong! I didn't have to check on it, stir it, test it - nothing - and in less than 15 minutes with less than 2 cups of water I had perfect pasta, with no boil-over either. I also bought the cookbook, and it rocks too.
Every recipe can be prepared in 15 min while your pasta is cooking - my kind of recipes! The Shrimp in Wine Sauce is outstanding- I have it at least once a week now. I highly recommend this product.
