We're renters, and we've always just had whatever fridge came with our place. And they NEVER have ice makers. So for years, I've purchased bags of party ice to keep up with my demand... ice trays just didn't cut it.
When we moved into this house, the landlord had just purchased a brand new frigidaire that was ice maker compatible and a previous tenant had already run a line for an ice maker through the cabinetry. We pounced on the opportunity to FINALLY have glorious FREE ice (minus initial costs, he he) and ordered this kit.
It was a bit of a pain to install, mainly because the existing water line was short and in rough shape and we wanted to install an in-line filter to prevent funky ice. After a minor struggle to get the right bits and bobs of plumbing pieces and tighten all the leaks, we had success. We hadn't moved in yet, so it got to make ice for 48 hours before we started to use any.
It has MORE than kept up with our ice demand and is working like a champ! We love it.

Electrolux/ Frigidaire Icemaker Kit. This icemaker kit fits most Electrolux/ Frigidaire top mount refrigerator models built from 2003 to present. It will also fit side-by-side refrigerators that do not have a water dispenser in the freezer door. Your refrigerator should have the kit number listed on back.
