Musicians with acoustical instruments made of wood:
Paid hundreds of dollars for dozens of methods to try control humidity in the closet where I keep my valuable acoustic guitars, violin, mandolin, and other wooden instruments. We live in a beach community where we constantly fight invasive moisture.
Nothing worked for more than two days. I tried desiccants, refreshable boxes of humidity beads, running a heater near the door, whatever. Wood swell can ruin a fine guitar. Fighting wood swell in a climate that rises to 100% relative humidity, I finally found this solution that was effective and priced low.
Thus far this device is the best answer to the question of controlling the environment where sensitive woods react to moisture in the air. So simple and effective I would highly suggest one buy one for this purpose.
I now control humidity in a closet area that is 4 x 9. My hygrometers agree that this is the best way to keep my many instruments safe at the level recommended by the manufacturer.
