I purchased this scale after reading the reviews and despite the negative posts about a weak battery compartment cover. I found the cover to be more than adequate. Perhaps it's be re-engineered since those posts but frankly you'd have to try and break the cover. The scale does an excellent job doing what I bought it for, weighing food. Absolute accuracy, if this is a problem, is not required when you are weighing out 3 oz of chicken.Customer Review: Great product, Great Price, Got here early

I researched scales for a while before making my choice. This model was highly recommended from several friends as well - it will not disappoint. Loooove that it zeros out the bowls and plates and found it very accurate. Its cute, cleans easy, easy to move, and easy to use. I cant ask for anything else. I bought this because we buy some food items in bulk at Costco and freeze after repackaging. I try to mark the new weight, but sometimes I'm off. Now, when I take something out of the freezer to defrost in the microwave, I whip out this little scale, which takes up almost no space at all, and weigh the package before defrosting. For the price, you can't really expect a laboratory-level scale. Instead, this is a lightweight, easy to use scale that, for me, is extremely easy to use. I keep it stashed in a corner of my kitchen and grab it to weigh anything I want. I can put a paper towel or small bowl or even a larger dish on it, tare it, and put product on it. We bought this scale when our old one was dying. The old scale took ages to zero and the weight would change with the slightest shifting of the item being weighed. Not so with this scale. It zeros quickly and has the option of manually turning it off. The weight is accurate, even if you remove an item and place it back on the scale. We use it to measure portion sizes, and so far, it has worked perfectly.
