I purchased this set for my sister who loves tea even more than I do. I loved her set so much I went back and bought one for me! The set includes a lovely borosilicate tea pot which makes it versatile. You can use it in your microwave, but you probably won't. The heating and pouring of the water are essential elements of the ritual of tea making.
When you pour the hot water over the hand-tied tea balls, you will witness an enchanting display. The tea balls slowly open into delightful flowers. The pot and infuser are perfectly clear to show off your tea and allow you to easily witness the unfolding of your tea flower. I don't bother with the infuser because the tea balls shed very little during the brewing.
Best of all, the tea is delicious. The green tea flavor is robust (through 3 potential infusions) and the jasmine is very subtle. I have since tried other brands but Primula has struck the perfect balance between flavor and beauty. I strongly recommend this set to anyone who loves tea and the soothing ritual of brewing tea.
By the way, you should try not to boil the water you use for infusing green teas. The flavor will be negatively affected by boiling hot water. Try to catch the water just before it boils. Small bubbles will start to rise. That's the perfect time to remove the water from the heat and brew your tea.

This is a wonderful, unique gift for anyone who enjoys tea, including yourself.
I initially purchased this set as a Christmas gift for a male attorney I work with who very much a tea person. He absolutely loves the entire concept from the flowering tea balls to the different medicinal benefits of each flower.
The teas are very flavorful, soothing, fun to watch and one tea ball last sometimes a couple days (we get at least three - four good steeps out of one ball, more if the pot gets emptied quickly).
The teas can be purchased at Meijer for $11.99 for the same 12 ball canister that comes with the set (they've been on sale for $9.99). It took us close to three months of brewing this tea almost daily to finish one canister.
Tip: The lid to the pot broke, and while you can purchase the lid from the manufacture, the $4.00 lid plus the $8.00 shipping comes to almost half the cost of an entire set. I took a lid from a large Yankee candle jar, removed the plastic seal (the seal holds the scent of the candle), the lid fits perfectly and works equally as well as the original lid, possibly better as it's heaver. (Any lid from a candle jar about that size will likely work).
The attorney and our entire office have enjoyed this tea and I too am looking forward to trying the teas iced!

I ordered Primula Flowering Tea Set for my mother in law for Mother's Day. The original order was sent April the 29th. She did not get it on or before May 11th. I E mailed them and requested they check the order. I got a response that everything was fine. A week later she still had not recieved the gift. In frustration I made the order through Amazon.com and She got the gift less than a week later. I was very pleased and surprised. (although why i should be I'll never know. I have always been pleased With Amazon)
The day that she got the tea set she immediatly brewed up a pot. She called me with a full hot mug of tea. She raved about it. How beautiful it was when the flower bloomed. How good the tea tasted and the tea pot itself. She loved it. I will probably order more of these for Christmas gifts this year. I know a lot of tea drinkers that will love them.
P.S. I was not able to cancel the order from the original site but as of June 1st it had still not been sent. I Love Amazon.com.

I can't believe I never knew about flowering teas before, but I came across them when Amazon was running a 4 for 3 promotion. I bought the teapot and assortment of flowering teas. When it arrived, I invited a couple friends over for tea, telling them that I was trying it out on them and didn't know how it would work. Well, it worked fantastic! We dropped in the tea ball and watched as it bloomed. After a few minutes, we poured the tea and enjoyed it immensely. After my friends left, I infused the pot several more times and poured the tea into a pitcher to use later for iced tea. This amounts to the tea being very inexpensive per serving!
I am not a tea connoisseur, but I certainly enjoyed this tea very much. And my friends enjoyed it so much that I ordered another set to be sent to them as a gift! I don't think you can go wrong ordering this set for a gift or for personal enjoyment. Very beautiful and good quality!

Decorative, usable, entertaining, good quality, and good value.
The glass of the teapot is very thin, so extra care is needed when transporting or moving the teapot, like say to the neighbor's house or to work. The decanter is a little more sturdy, as well as the lid. The inclusion of the decanter is a big plus for when you use loose tea leaves or if the tea flower, after multiple uses, gets battered enough to fall apart. The green tea flavors are ecceptionally tasty, their effect added to by the nature of the steeping process. The tea flowers open quickly and can be dried out and kept after two or three uses.
The pot size is perfect for two full mugs of tea, serving easily two tea-lovers. Three people could be served in traditional tea cups without running out as well. And of course, the tea flower can be used again within the next 24 hours.
