Customer Review: EatSmart Digital Scale easy to use

I purchased the EatSmart Digital Scale as an aid to monitor my caloric intake. I was shocked to learn that my estimates on the total calories of my daily meals by volume were so inaccurate. By measuring each item in grams and comparing it to websites that list nutritional values, I am able to get very accurate results.
By individually adding food items to a plate set atop the scale and zeroing the tare between each item, you get very precise results. So now I am eating more healthy by accurately limiting those high calorie items.
The top of the scale is a rectangular piece of glass that is very easy to keep clean. Even looking through older eyes, I am easily able to read the digital readout through the glass top.
The only downside was actually a bit humorous when the enclose batteries (made in China)arrived with the labels reversed. When I installed the AAA batteries with the + & - ends as printed on the label, the scale did not work. I used some Rayovac's that I had on hand, assuming that the enclose AAA's were bad. It was only later that I realized that the foreign factory had mislabeled their batteries.
I am very happy with my EatSmart Scale and would highly recommend it.
