I am a bit of a food scale snob.(I own 7, but don't tell my husband)
I am a pediatric dietitian, practicing in the field for 30 years.
This is the only scale that has common foods programmed in and allows you to take any product that you have with a food label and input the data.
I find that most folks will look at a food label, identify the carbohydrate content of the reference portion size, but then fail to measure or weight the portion size. As a result, the carbohydrate count is off.
When I demonstrate this product to the kids I work with, they want to keep "playing". I love it when playing translates to learning to visually estimate portions. This company has been wonderful and thoughtfully listens to all my "wish" lists.
I use this scale both professionally and personally.

After aready losing 75 lbs., I'm still pursuing my last 50 lbs. to reach my goal weight for my height/age. Although I've read numerous diet books, it all comes down to making the best nutritional choices and portion control. The EatSmart Nutrition Scale is an excellent tool to help with these decisions. There is truth in numbers that you can see on the scale for each portion of food rather than "eye balling" whether a piece of fruit (or whatever) is small, medium or large and see the exact nutritional values for each portion. The Guidebook To A Nutritious Lifestyle that comes with the scale highlights important info for anyone who wants to eat smart! Easy to use and even though I have very limited counter space (live in an apt.), it fits in and looks good. A great value and wise purchase for your good health.

My wife an I decided it was time to lose those extra pounds. To help we wanted a scale that would be accurate, attractive, easy to use, and provide nutritional information. We did a lot of research and picked the Eatsmart Digital Scale. We are very happy with it. It is always on my counter next to where I prepare our meals. The smooth glass top allows me to put food directly on it (and clean it easily) or put a different dish on it to hold the food item to weigh. When I bought it I was not aware that it would even keep track of an entire meal's worth of calories and nutrition information. That was more than I expected - and is very easy to use. I have already recommended it to my relatives who are also choosing to become more healthy. My 14 y/o son was dianosed with Type 1 Diabetes a couple of months ago. We had an innacurate food scale, and we were using measuring cups and measuring spoons for everything....until I ordered this scale from Amazon.com. It has simplified our lives so much! It is wonderful that he can put whatever portion he desires to eat on the scale and punch in the code or nutritional info. from the package and....VOILA! There is the carb count! It is easy to use and I think pre-teens could easily understand how to enter the codes and information. It is lightweight and we saved the box so we can take it with us when we travel to visit relatives. We keep coffee filters by the scale, and put one on the glass before my son wieghs his food and it makes clean up a snap. We are very pleased with the EatSmart scale!Customer Review: Oh Boy!

Oh boy have I been off with my portion sizes. I am sooo glad that I got this scale, because it is really helping me to stay on point with my eating. This scale has made me realize that the portions that I have been eating are really NOT the correct size, which of course causes weight gain or very little loss. I have to admit though that I was a little apprehensive about using the scale for the first time because of the added steps. My previous scale was just able to weigh items. But my trusty ES (eat smart) gives me a much more accurate idea of how much I'm eating, which at times is a little shocking. But now that I have the instructions down I am actually having fun eating right. This scale really is a good investment for those wanting to lose weight or just eat right.
