So I have to confess that I do not use the timer in the kitchen but while reading for my grad school courses, because of this, I do not know how great the timer is in the kitchen.
I used one of these years ago and I'm happy to have an exact replacement. Years ago I would set this timer to take naps as I worked the night shift at a diner. Now, I set the timer for 45 minutes at a time to complete my reading and 15 minutes to have breaks. The buttons are simple to operate, and the time is easy to clear.
It three buttons: minutes, seconds (if both are held it resets to zero) and a Start/stop button.
This is not rocket science. If you need a device to beep at a certain time, I would recommend this timer. It has a clip on the back, with a very, very tiny magnet. I have not used either so I can't vouch for their quality, but if you're setting it on a table or countertop, it's fine.
