I purchased this item, after I red here that it makes great cream cheese.
Being from Germany and having a hard time to purchase "Quark", similar to actual cream cheese, I decided to get this and see what happens. It really works !!! BUT BUT BUT, make your yoghurt yourself, too. ONLY then it works!!!!! It does not work with the plain yoghurt you purchase in the supermarket!!! - I like that it does not make any mess. This is another reason I wanted to purchase this. It is fast and simple, but still old fashioned. No work at all.

When I bought the Cuisipro Donvier Yogurt Cheese Maker, I never expected such great results as I had. I make my own yogurt and sometimes buy store bought yogurt to make into Greek yogurt. I just put either my homemade yogurt or store bought yogurt into the strainer and wella, I have Greek yogurt or yogurt cheese, depending on how long I leave it in. It's a breeze to clean and the lid keeps it fresh from odors. I gave one as a gift to my daughter and she loves it too. This saves so much money by making your own. This makes a compact pyramid of tasty yogurt cheese or "laban." This is simply the yogurt curd with the watery portion removed. A lump of this cheese, sweetened with a touch of powdered sugar and served with strawberries is a low-fat dessert if you use non-fat yogurt. The cheese also works as a sour-cream substitute. You can even make "coeur a la creme" with it. This works better than cheesecloth and colander or sieve. If you like yogurt cheese or are on a low-fat diet, this is a handy thing to have.Customer Review: great product! easy to use and convenient

I like this product a lot. I had one for years that I wore out, so I bought 2 more. It's very easy to use and convenient. In particular, I make a greek cucumber dip that calls for thickened yogurt, and the Donvier strainer makes its preparation much easier. During summer, I use it to strain vanilla yogurt and mix it with fresh strawberries or peaches. A delicious alternative to ice cream, especially for someone who is lactose intolerant.
The Donvier strainer cleans easily in the top rack of the dishwasher.

In Europe "yogurt cheese" or "Quark" is a staple of everyone's kitchen and I couldn't believe how expensive and rare it is in the US. The Cuisipro Donvier Yogurt Cheese Maker works perfectly! If you use Greek Yogurt you get "Quark" in a couple of hours, with more liquid yogurt within 24 hours. My dogs love the whey on their food. I have made some European recipes that call for "Quark" (yogurt cheese) and they came out perfectly. Could't be happier. It would be great if it was bigger, but I simply bought a second one.
