Customer Review: Excellent Value, Lots of Knife Storage

This knife organizer fits the drawer from side to side perfectly with the expandable side sections, so it maximizes the usable space and gives the drawer a neat appearance. Yes, it's plastic rather than wood, but it's an excellent value for the number of knives it fits. We use the bottom front slots for 8 large and medium knives, plus the honing steel, and we use the top rear tray for 12 smaller knives (paring, steak, trimmer, utility). If your drawer doesn't open/pull out all the way, you can slide the top tray forward to easily reach the knives in the rear of the top tray. (We don't have a need for the bottom rear of the tray, but it fits another 8 medium or small knives.) Our drawer is narrow and we can only pull out one side of the expandable section an inch, but it's just enough space for the kitchen scissors and carving fork. The drawer is 19-1/4" deep, and cleaver (our cleaver doesn't work in the knife slots) is stored in the 1-1/4" gap between the rear of the drawer and the back of the knife tray. The knives are easy to access, and the knife organizer is easy to clean.
