Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Debbie Meyer Green BagsCustomer Review: IMITATION Green Bags - Buyer Beware Summary: 5 Stars
Beware of Imitation Green Bags out there. Purchased on Ebay imitation Green Bags. Easy to spot. Quality of box was blurred, images appeared cloudy. Simple English words misspelled on box i.e. "COMTENTS:20 BAGS" and "Housewares Ameeica, inc. 2007-2008".
Imitation bags were florescent green which is not normal, and no normal grainy feel inside the bag. We do not know what the imitation bags are made of, or how toxic - then we place food inside the bags for consuming? Warning - only buy from authorized vendors/sellers of Debbie Meyers Green Bags.
I have been using the bags from almost 2 years, my boyfriend has been a user for several years and swears by this product. I love the green bags they really work!
Hope you find this information valuable.
Customer Review: It's easy to be green and easy to use the Green Bags Summary: 5 Stars
I love these bags. My husband and I are empty nesters. Hard to use things up before they go bad. I was completely sold on the Green Bags (Debbie Meyer)when we went on vacation for 2 weeks. I put all my fruits (apples, grapefruit) and veggies (tomatoes, pre-bagged salad, onions, and carrots) in separate bags, make sure the bags and contents are DRY. After we got home I was pleasantly surprised to see that all Green bagged items were fresh and tasted great! I put my produce in the Green Bags as soon as I get home from the store and wash as I use them. Get as much air out of the bags as possible and do not secure too tightly.. I just found out about bags for bread and cheese (these items mold very fast at our house) Can't wait to try the bags for them. A very satisfied customer!!!
Customer Review: Wow - strawberries still good after a week! Summary: 5 Stars
These are amazing. I never would have thought something like this would work. At Christmas a friend said they did work - so I gave them a try. Everything lasts much longer which is great for a single person buying produce! Herbs, cilantro, mint and rosemary have lasted a week and still look great. I put strawberries in the plastic container they came in right into a bag - still fresh after a week. A few are getting soft, but no mold!!
I'm not sure why others have had problems. Maybe some batches of bags were bad? I pat dry my herbs, but otherwise do not dry things off. My bananas build up a little moisture. I let the bag air-out while I make breakfast and close before going to work - 1 week and good bananas.
I highly recommend these.
Customer Review: Really Works! Saves me cash-I no longer throw out veggies. Summary: 5 Stars
Sometimes you think these are just gimmics. The Debbie Meyer green bags save me money because as a Single Person I am always throwing out veggies, or fruits that I only use a portion of for myself. No more! My usual purchases include tomatoes, lettuce (all types), spinach, celery, pears, apples and onions. Now with these little green bags I am able to use UP my fruits and veggies because I have a way to store and keep the portions without them getting all slimey, moldy. Something about the way our fruits and veggies are harvested and transported today causes them to go Bad very Quick I can hardly get them home. These little green bags work wonders! Follow the directions on usage and you'll be as happy as I am about the way these bags keep fruits and veggies fresh.
Customer Review: Can't find your way into a bag, I guess. Summary: 5 Stars
These bags work wonderfully well, if you read and follow the instructions. Either these people are here at the behest of those marketing the drop-in-the-drawer products competing with these, or they're too dense to follow simple instructions--or maybe too lazy to change a paper towel out twice a week. We've kept things at least three times as long, both in refrigerator and out.
And you don't refrigerate bananas unless you're going to eat them right away--they're a unique TROPICAL FRUIT, they don't do well in the cold, no matter WHAT they're stored in--or NOT stored in. It's the cold that rots them, not the bags. Sheesh. Morons. I could give these to a monkey and he'd use them better than this bunch of bananas. LOL.
