I've had my crock pot for about 2 years now and am very satisfied with it. I don't have any issues with food sticking and the temperature is just fine. For those worrying about the heat damaging your countertop you should be using a wooden cutting board under it while cooking.
I've read some reviews saying the lid gets too hot while cooking. What do you expect when you're using a glass lid? Use a hot pad or don't touch the glass while cooking and you won't have any issues.
Update: I have had my crockpot now for going on 5 years and it still works as well as the day I got it. The plastic knob on the lid did break off so I had to purchase another lid (you can do this from Crockpot's website). Other than that I have not had any issues at all.

This is my first crock pot and I don't know what I did without it! I'm using it less in the summer, but the winter months were vastly improved by the soups, stews, roasts, and other warm comfort foods I made in this!
I haven't had any problems with the settings, high being "too high," etc. Has worked perfectly for me!
