I got one of these CrockPots several months ago and have used it primarily for cooking vegetable soups and stews. I found that it works well -- I can put the ingredients in and ignore it for several hours. I haven't tried leaving it for an 8-hour workday. For those who are beginners, CrockPot has a list of recipes on the internet, and I can't wait to try the desserts! Preparing a "full" crockpot of food can provide about six meals, but you need to be careful when measuring ingredients. For this small crockpot, I found that I need to reduce ingredient quantities of standard recipes by about half.Customer Review: Great for singles, too!

I'm single and live by myself, and I have found that this Crock Pot is an excellent way to have a really nice meal waiting for me when I get home from work. I can make enough to last a few meals, but the Crock Pot works great even with a smaller amount of food -- you just want to make sure you've got plenty of liquid in there. I use my Crock Pot all the time, and it has worked perfectly from the moment I took it out of the box. It is also quite easy to clean; even if you forget to clean it right away, a bit of a soak with hot soapy water does the trick.Customer Review: Just the right size for my family

I bought one of these for my daughter for Christmas and I got this particular one because it had all the attributes she wanted. She wanted it to be small ehough for just two people and to be able to remove the bowl for cleaning. This was the ONLY one I found with those attributes. There were 1 qt. size that were too little and all the bigger ones for big families. After she got it she liked it so well that I bought one for myself and it works perfectly. I think the size for a small family and the ease of cleaning are the real selling points for me.Customer Review: Good Product

In my search for a crock pot, I wanted something that was the right size for my lifestyle. I wanted something that I could cook dishes just for myself or make a dish that I could use for several meals, or make something for several dinner guests. It is basic in style with just one control knob, which means less technology to break, and it fits well in my smaller kitchen. I bought a large slow cooker from amazon and ordered this smaller model about a week later -- it's a handy size for smaller dishes. It's an ideal design. And it turns out incredible oatmeal! Among many other dishes. It's the perfect size for a three- or four-pound chicken.
I wish I'd had one of these when I was in college. Very handy. I'd highly recommened "Not Your Mother's Slow-Cooker Cookbook" for recipes.
