After using this crock pot a mere six times, the bottom of the ceramic insert completely fell off as I tried to lift it out of the heating unit! Scalding hot gravy and meat spilled everywhere and could have seriously burned me had i not backed off in time. The bottom of the ceramic pot was neatly severed as if someone had sawn it off...
Do not buy this crockpot. It is a serious safety hazard.

Probably have bashed this product enough, but it is insulting to still see "Sturdy lid and side handles for improved grip" advertised. In no time at all, the handles broke off like peanut brittle; glad I wasn't carrying it around the kitchen. No wonder no one carries replacement handles. Don't know what's better, but sure won't try Rival again.Customer Review: Handles and temperature knob cracked and falling off!!

I only have used this about 8 times for just my husband and myself. I took it out yesterday and the temperature knob fell off in two pieces in my hand. Then I noticed the handles are all cracked and ready to come apart. VERY DANGEROUS. This gets very hot and if lifted it would cause a real problem.Customer Review: Beautiful to look at but Very Dangerous!

I only used my slowcooker about 8 times when one of the handles cracked off. Luckily it happened while I was washing it and not when it was full. Pieces of the other handle are cracked off also. The pot also gets extremely hot while in use. I have burned myself several times.Customer Review: Total junk

We used this crock pot four times. After the first two, the knob crumbled into chunks. Then the right handle broke into three pieces (while being stored after the third time we used it), now I am making soup, and the right handle is cracking. This is like a bad joke.
