Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Spice Rack Storage/Organizer

Customer Review: Got them four years ago
Summary: 5 Stars

I love these. I got 2 sets and attached them to the side of a shelf in my pantry which was "dead" space. It freed up shelf space and they're all right there with labels facing, easy to find a certain spice when I need it. Also, they're grooved, which allows them to be easily cut apart, so you can easily adjust how many you want in each row.

After four years, the tape strips began to dry out and they started falling down. Still, not bad for 4 years of daily use! I looked for new spice racks and then decided that I still like these the best so purchased some double-sided tape and stuck them back up again.

One reviewer wondered if they will stretch out -- They will. A larger bottle can be forced onto the clip and the clip will adjust to fit it. You just have to put the same spice bottle back onto the same clip and it's not a problem. I did notice that, in the 2 weeks it took me to get around to getting the tape to stick them back up with (while they weren't being used) that the clips that were stretched reverted back to their original size.

One reviewer said that you need to heat the glue tape. Mine didn't require that. They come with foam strips that are coated with glue on each side. You just pull the protective paper off and stick them up. (I attached them to the side of a formica covered shelf.) As I mentioned, mine stayed up for 4 years.

Customer Review: Bye Bye Spice Clutter! Hello Cabinet Space!
Summary: 5 Stars

What a wonderful simple solution to storing spices! I cannot say enough about how thrilled I am with these so far. Previously I had all my spices stored in a small cabinet next to my stove for easy reach when cooking. I say easy, but truthfully it was a lot of hunting, shuffling containers about looking in the back, and replacing spices I didn't need to simply because I failed to find it in the crowd. With these, all my spices are label out and in easy reach in the door of that same small cabinet, and I can use the shelf space for just the largest containers. What's more, I don't have to spend a bundle on pricey systems that require me to pour my spices into new containers and have limited spaces. I can keep applying these little darlings until my cabinet doors are all filled up if I so desire, and at $4 per 12 spaces, not much stopping me! I find them not only incredibly functional, but they look so neat and tidy all lined up in my cabinet door. Who would think cheap little white plastic thingies could look so good! Granted, I cannot comment on longevity as I just installed them. But at the price, I won't mind replacing them as needed. I do wish they had a less permanent adhesive, as it won't be fun removing I am sure, but another poster mentioned using removable adhesive strips instead of what they supply. Great idea!

Customer Review: Perfect for holding lots of spice
Summary: 5 Stars

My husband loves to cook, so he has lots of different spices. The challenge has always been how to accommodate all the spice bottles while keeping them hidden (I don't like them sitting out on the counter) yet accessible. These clips have finally solved our problem - they fit inside the cabinet doors, and are easy to install. The spices stay hidden, and are actually now MORE accessible for my husband, and also easier to find what he wants in just a few seconds, since he doesn't have to shift bottles around or dig through drawers. We're both happy at long last - he gets all of his spice, I get the organization and streamlined minimalist look I want in the kitchen because these are finally hidden. Oh, and putting these on the inside of cabinet doors has freed up a drawer in our kitchen for other items now, helping us to maximize our space even more. I love efficient solutions like this and encourage anyone - even people with large kitchens - to give these a try, if only because they make finding spices a lot easier due to being able to read all the labels just by opening a door.

Customer Review: Fantastic
Summary: 5 Stars

I separated these so that each clip stood individually. I stuck a magnet to the sticky backing and now keep my spices on the side of my fridge. For me, this keeps the spices close by without cluttering the counter tops or cabinets, yet far enough to stay out of sunlight and steam from the stove. I haven't had a problem with the plastic arms because i just remove the whole thing from the fridge - bottle, clip and all. i bought a sheet of magnets with a sticky back (only because i couldn't find a sheet w/o adhesive) at a craft/teacher supply store. i keep 30 spices in the kitchen regularly, and this helped me manage all of them.

Update: found these on Amazon!
Magcraft NSN0834 1-Inch by 1/4-Inch by 1/10-Inch Rare Earth Block Magnets, 12-Count
the packaging for the clips recommends heating the adhesive for a few seconds with a blow dryer to prepare the adhesive for both application and removal.

Customer Review: I love these things!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am here right now because you all have no idea how much I miss these things!!! There were a set of three of these in my last apartment. I lived there for three years. I have a lot of spices, (at least 40 jars) and always trying to find the ones I used most was hard w/ the tiny cabinets I had. I put my most used ones on these racks and they were always right there. After I Moved, it took a while before I stopped looking to the INSIDE of the cabinet door to get a spice I needed! Talk about old habits dying hard! I am definitely buying these, because I miss it so much!

As for the people who said the "arms" broke off, I never had that problem, it may happen if you put a jar that is too wide, or a glass jar which is too heavy. I only put plastic jars and the tiny McCormick Jars. 99% of my spices are the Dollar Store type jars. If they got stretched out, You can try to tape the arms together for a few days, that may ease them back into shape somewhat.
