We've used this at the grill with steaks, in the oven with a turkey breast and on the stovetop to make candy. It's worked perfectly every time so far. I like that you can stick it to the outside of the oven and it beeps when the correct temp has been reached. A very useful kitchen gadget to have on hand!Customer Review: This is THE one!

This is much better than the Maverick ET-73 I had before. The probe is heavy duty and I like that I can select BEEF and the thermometer knows what temperature "Medium" or "Well Done" is. Also there is an OFF/ON switch that isn't in the battery compartment. I use this with my Big Green Egg ceramic cooker.Customer Review: Wonderful product--Recommend it to everyone

I am very happy with this thermometer. It is every bit as good as it looks. I timed my cooking indepenedently of the temperature alert to see if they were close. They were only off by two minutes, but I was confident that the meet was not under- or over-cooked. Yay Alton Brown who recommended it.Customer Review: Works great

Worked great in a 500 degree oven (Thanksgiving Turkey).
After reading all the reviews for all the various digital probe thermometers it became quite clear that the probe is what breaks. Treat the probe with care (don't drop it, don't soak it in water, etc) and you'll have no problems.

This is the only one that I have found that has a heavy duty cord that can withstand the heat from a charcoal grill. It is so easy to use I bought one for my 76 year old mom. Will buy another if this one should ever break. Be sure and take the battery out when you are not using it.
