Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of CDN Digital Programmable Probe ThermometerCustomer Review: Gets the job done. Which is more than I can say for others. Summary: 5 Stars
I've been using this thermometer for grilling and cooking for about a year. I probably used it 10 times. I've been very happy with the results. The previous digital probe thermometer I tried died a quick death because the probe wire stopped working. CDN has taken their product seriously when it comes to function. The probe wire is nice and thick and handles grill and oven temperatures reliably. For those who haven't used one for cooking meats, I have several times wondered if it was working because the temperature seemed to be rising too slowly vs. my instincts, and would have pulled my food out too early had I not waited. It's been dead on for me and saved me a lot of hassle in either over or under cooking.
Customer Review: Best Probe Thermometer Out There! Summary: 5 Stars
I am a big fan of probe thermometers, and I have owned and ruined several of them; each a different brand. The CDN is the most accurate and can withstand high heat - best on the market in this price range. I have owned this thermometer for over a year now, and in this time it has:
1. Been rained on at least 5 times.
2. Dropped in our pool.
3. Been hidden in our sandbox.
4. Been dropped on hot coals and backing partially melted.
Each time this thermometer has miraculously come back to life and worked perfectly! The original battery is still going.
If I had to purchase a new one, it would be this thermometer!

This product is awesome. I only know how to cook by following instructions from the internet: YouTube, and cooking websites. So I'm good at reading and measuring but my biggest problem is getting the temperature and cooking time just right. Sometimes things get burnt and sometimes they are way under cooked and I sit by the oven full of anxiety. Now whenever I bake things like a prime rib roast, I don't have a worry in the world. The cable, probe, and roast can sit in the oven, the timer sits on the counter, and (the best part) I sit on my couch watching TV. When the temperature hits 140 degrees, the alarm goes off and roast is cooked to perfection.
Customer Review: Stands the test of time Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this thermometer about 5 years ago. I saw Alton Brown using one on Good Eats and walked into a kitchen store and bought the first one I saw. I have used it at least once per week since then without any problems. I like the fact that the recommended temperatures for the different meats are right on the unit so you don't have to look them up if you can't remember. I use it for meats only, so maybe using it for candies and things at higher temperatures decreases the life of the probe? I also do not grill. I highly recommend this thermometer for regular meat cooking in the oven.
Customer Review: meat probe Summary: 5 Stars
I decided to invest in a meat probe as there had been a few turkeys which were underdone when I was ready to carve them. I chose this thermometer because of its wide temperature range, metal covered wire and its choice of preprogrammed or personal choice end temperatures.
It worked well (one use), but I put the probe into the wrong place so I still had to use my judgment to decide when the turkey was done (not the thermometer's fault). All in all, I would use it again, but wished I could save my settings instead of reprogramming it each time.
