Customer Review: Great starter chopsticks for kids!

I purchased these four our 16-month old twin boys and they work great to teach them how to use chopsticks. On first use, picking up miniture marshmellows, they both immediately got the hang of using chopsticks. Next day, using them with breakfast, one of the twins already uses them unassisted and the other needs only a little help getting them into position. They are a bit big for their hands but not too big. The twins do not hold them exactly right yet but they understand squeezing them to pick up things (but are still learning to unsqueeze in their mouth instead of in front of it).
If you are going to teach kids to use chopsticks, these would be a great, and inexpensive first set.

I have a four year old, whose entire diet, if he had his way, would consist of chicken nuggets (what part of a chicken is that anyway??). He will eat anything I give him, as long as he can use his 'topsticks'. He even wants bread cut up tiny, so he can eat each bite. He struggles with macaroni, but manages to do it. They are well made, really smooth, and easy to clean. I wash mine by hand, because I don't want to wash the animals off the handle. I haven't noticed any staining on them, and he has eaten spaghetti, so I think they are pretty stain resistant, too. I bought these so my children could use chopsticks like the adults. My 3 & 6 year old have no problems using them to pick up sushi, chicken nuggets or whatever else we are eating. I have no idea if this will help or hurt them learn to use real chopsticks in the future but for now, they work great. MY SON HAD BEEN WANTING CHOPSTCKS FOR A LONG TIME AND I HAD SEEN SOME THAT WERE MADE LIKE A CLOTHESPIN IN A MAGAZINE AND THOUGHT THOSE WOULD BE EASIER FOR HIM TO USE. WHEN I CHECKED ON THOSE PARTICULAR ONES, THEY WERE A LITTLE MORE THAN I WANTED TO PAY FOR CHOPSTICKS FOR A 9 YEAR OLD. THEN I FOUND THIS PRODUCT WHICH WAS VERY SIMILAR AND FOR A BETTER PRICE. THEY WERE A STOCKING STUFFER FOR MY SON AND HE LOVED THEM. HE HAS A BLAST EATING WITH THEM AND THEY WERE WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY.Customer Review: Great Fun!

I bought these for my daughter's Daisy Scout troop to celebrate Chinese New Year. All of the girls had great fun with them and kept asking if they could take them home with them (of course the answer was yes). They arrived very fast and we have used them several times. They are supposed to be dishwasher safe but I have been washing them by hand - just to be on the safe side.
