Customer Review: REAL Granite Ware - Made in the USA!

You'll see "Granite Ware" or "Graniteware" on lots of pans with this look, but they are not all the real thing. Amazon carries some of these fakes, so be aware, because the fakes are junky by comparison - they are thinner, the edges are sharp (not rolled,) the handles are also sharp and flimsy, etc. - I researched it, and ALL the quality complaints for Granite Ware on Amazon are for imitations made OFFSHORE (Mexico, China, et al.) Thats also the reason for the lower prices sometimes found in stores - the pans are knockoffs.
If the label on your pan does NOT say "Made in the USA" you did NOT get real Graniteware! (Also, REAL Granite Ware covered roasters have "USA" EMBOSSED under the handle of the lid.) So try to get the real American Granite Ware - it will not disappoint you!
PS Excellent roasting & browning at LOW temps! We use 275 degrees (at most) and always get great results whether roasting Turkey, Chicken, Beef, or Lamb.

I purchased this product a year ago based on other reviews and I am not disappointed at all. I was a bit worried at the light weight and what felt like thin material, but don't let that fool you. I have done more than one turkey with this, never had to take off the cover, it cooked it really quickly, browned while covered and its tender and juicy. The price was good too. I was really impressed that my turkey had finished so quickly. I would recommend it.I am only sorry that it did not come with its own wire rack. Haven't tried any other food in it, but I certainly will sometime soon.
Some advice, don't leave the turkey as long as the instructions on the turkey package says, it cooks alot quicker, and stick with the 300-325 temp.
I am about to order a smaller size.

I've had the same roaster over 25 years....great for pot roast, etc., etc. Easy clean....dishwashes great. Mine developed a small hole, probably just from wear and tear. I patched with duct tape for awhile (yes....duct tape!!). Believe it or not, this worked for a couple of months...but I finally decided to search for another one. I expected it to be obselete and hard to find, but easily found this one on Amazon and ordered immediately. Happy girl, right??? Until I was in Target last week and my husband saw the exact same roaster for $11.99... Oh well, it's certainly worth the $20 I paid, but just think how smart I'd feel if I'd found it at Target first.Customer Review: great versatile pot

my old one got a pinhole spot in it...as i was washing the new one..I grinned and thought about that old pan and how it had served me well over the years ...I make my turkey in it at Thanksgiving, my pot roast every other Sunday, my kielbasa, potatoes, green beans..and every other "big" meals in it...on the stove top or in the oven no wonder that my old pot sprung a leak...grin...
this is a great pot for those bigger than big meals and I recommend it highly...great value for price...shipping fast and exactly what I wanted

I remembered as a child that my mom used to own a granite roaster and figured I needed a pot for my turkey this Thanksgiving. I was so tired of using aluminum foil! Well, needless to say that Walmart was selling a cheap poorly made pot and I ran to amazon to purchase this one. Not only is it made here, but no defects either. I have to say it is the best roaster ever! My turkey came out juicy and browned without having to uncover it. It cooks fast, too! I absolutely love it and will never use any other roaster again.
