This canner was purchased along with a pressure cooker and will be used to do cold pack type canning. We have used one of these type canners over the years with great success and expect this one to do the same. Love it! Have already used it several times and it's exactly what I needed. It's much larger than my regular stockpot and fits a lot of jars in it at one time. Excellent for canning. I read the reviews for the rack. For me, it's not a big deal. I also use this in making homebrew.
