I'm new at home canning, and wasn't sure what to buy. This canner is just what I needed. It's huge, and works great. The fact that it came with the canning rack was a real bonus. With the rack, you just lift it up and hang the handles over the edge of the pot, load you jars in, and then lower them all in the boiling water at the same time. No getting burned from the steam. And, when it's time to remove the jars, you just lift the rack back up, hang it over the edge again, and take the jars out (be sure to use potholders, of course, when lifting the rack in and out of the pot). I am really impressed with the quality, too. The price was a real bonus with this one as well. Excellent value!

Love it! Perfect size to can 7 quarts tomatos or fruit. Easy lift basket gets cans out safely. Make sure you buy an additional canning tool set that comes with a magnetic lid lifter, the tongs to remove the hot jars from the canner, and a plastic stick to stir out bubbles before you place lid. (advice from Mom-aka:Professional Canner) I am an amateur at this so I took my time. Every jar sealed! Tried Walmarts, Target, and every local hardware to find a canner. Don't waste your time and gas $$$!! Order from the net. Actually far cheaper with free shipping than searching your 30 mile radius.Customer Review: Canning Pot

Love the pot. I used to use my own large pot for canning and it was always a struggle putting jars in and out of the boiling water. So, when this canning pot arrived, what a difference it made in canning! The pot is very wide, so it fits so many more jars that my own pot did, and putting jars in and taking them out of the boiling water is a snap with the wire rack that came with the pot. I looked everywhere for this pot and for the canning accessories, and couldn't find them in any store near my house. A store about an hour away supposedly had the canner and the accessories included for something like $70. I found both on Amazon (separately) and paid way, way less, and they were both delivered to my home in a few days. We've been canning things the last few weeks. Reminds me of my Mom canning in the kitchen when I was little. Looks just like the one I remember her having. Works great. The rack will corrode, but no biggy. Looks like normal aluminum discoloration. Takes a while to get that much water boiling, but that's not the fault of the canner. Holds 7 quarts or can squeeze 8 pints in if you are careful.
