the ONLY thing i didnt like about this waffle maker, was the belgium grids are Not deep pockets...they are bigger than the old fashion grids, but not as large as the real belgium waffles...after using it, i actually prefer this medium grid size over the larger grids..you get the best of both..the timer beeps, which i hate...its loud and my dog hates it every time it goes off...the varying tempeture are great, and they do make them however way you desire (crispy outside/moist inside)..or all crispy or all soft.etc..you pour only about 1/2 cup of batter to make a whole waffle..very easy to make..non stick surface works well.have had no problems sticking..i make bannanut waffles, which sometimes can have a sticky consistance, but they always pull off the surface w/o problems..ive tired many other brands, and had to return them due to broken parts, temp over heating...this has been the most reliable and durable product ive found...no flimpsy hinges,etc...very easily stored..small enough to take with you when you travel if you so desired...i like to make extra, and freeze them for later...the elctric cord is heavy duty..not a cheap plug...depending on the temp set, they make waffles fast (90 secinds max)..trust me, youll be happy with this product, and i have deffiently given it a workout..Customer Review: 830B Waffle Maker is Wonderful

Chef's Choice 830B WafflePro Classic Belgian Waffle Maker I just rec'd this item for christmas and absolutely love it. My dogs loved it too...Yes, they got a bite..I used the waffle mixture instructions on the Aunt Jemima pancake mix. I have used other waffle makers (cheaper) and they just don't come close to this one. It took me using it one time to figure out the settings I need for what I like, and the second one was perfect. It is very quick ...heats up after each waffle quickly. Clean up is with a paper towel....I did use just a touch more than 1/2 half cup of mixture to make the "PERFECT" waffle.. I will probably be making waffles every weekend now that I have one that actually does what it claims..I would Recommend this highly to anyone who loves a great waffle... I've owned this little waffler for just over a month and absolutely love it. It cooks evenly and the "crispy exterior/moist interior" setting produces delectable waffles every time. My family loves them and we use settings between 2 (my favorite) and 4 (my husband's favorite). The waffles cook in under 90 seconds which is wonderful for early morning breakfast before school. I even took it on a recent camping trip and it was perfect. I use a pancake mix, made with the waffle directions and if you pour an even 1/2 cup it will not over flow. It you add too much, or your mix is too runny, over flow clean up is simple. I seasoned it twice with oil on the first and second times I used it and have never had a waffle stick. OMG a money saver! After years of trying to satisfy my gaggle of young voracious swimmer's appetites with IHOP waffles, the expense became absurd. So I saw a waffle maker at a hotel on a swim trip and they were So easy to make.
A light bulb moment occurred for me, I like to make pancakes, I can use my pancake batter for waffle mix!
Since they taste virtually the same.
I no longer go to IHOP, make perfect waffles at home now every 90 seconds it takes to cook one! I am beyond happy, saving money, Good product for the cost, have not made a bad waffle yet, just dreams of all the different combinations now. My gaggle woofs'em down,and yummy they say.

I have been looking for a Belgian Waffle Maker since I ate Belgian Waffles on the last cruise I took. After researching waffle irons and reading reviews, I decided that the Chef's Choice 830B waffle iron was the product for me. I do not have a big kitchen, so the size was a concern also. After receiving this waffle iron, I have not been sorry I got it. The waffles are the best and so easy to make. And the clean up is a breeze - there is barely any clean up. The waffles were a hit with my son who stated that he never wants to eat frozen waffles again. I have used the Aunt Jemima Pancake and Waffle Mix and also used Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix, both are good and easy. The instruction book also comes with recipes to try. I am very pleased with this product.
