I own a tea kettle like this but it was no longer available. After visiting friends in Nevada I decided to send this tea kettle as a gift, sight unseen, bought only from other reviews. Was nervous about it. The recipients I know well enough that if it was a piece of junk they would let me know. They raved about it, thought the design attractive and it was fast to heat water and all the features worked to their satisfaction.Customer Review: Good Value

I've read these reviews and have based my own buying on them. I found this kettle affordable, made well and designed well. Yes, the metal surface gets hot. It was made to boil water but the grip keeps you quite safe from the heat. It's fast too. Much faster than my expensive stove-top kettle, and since I travel a lot, very easy to pack, light in weight. I can now make an excellent pot of tea wherever there is electricity.Customer Review: Great Tea Kettle!

We just purchased one of these for my 89 year old mom so she could make coffee, tea, or hot chocolate w/o a lot of bother. We had one ourselves which we take with us when we go on vacation so we can have hot beverages whenever we want (icluding AM coffee). The unit is well made and stable, and, depending on how full it is, boils coffee fairly quicky. It's a lot more convenient than firing up the stove top.Customer Review: Great Purchase

I ordered this tea kettle as my old one was about 25 years old and needed replacing. The company gave me speedy and great service. The kettle turns itself off when the water boils and since I am older I do not have to worry about leaving it on the burner, and forgetting to turn it off. It helps in not using as much water (since we are in a 10 year draught). I love it and would not want to be without it.Customer Review: Perfect

Originally I purchased this for safety reasons. With 2 small children I can't rely on a whistle or memory to take a tea kettle off the stove. Now that I have used it I can't believe I ever went without it! It is such a time saver and makes enjoying tea throughout the day simple. I ran two full pots of boiling water and dumped before drinking and never experienced the metallic taste others mentioned.
