The Chef's Choice M130 Profesion Knife-Sharpening Station is just that, a professional knife-sharpening station. I've owned many knife-shrpeners, including an earlier version of this product. None could come close to equalling this one for ease and accuracy of operation. Within minutes, a really dull knife can be sharp enough to slice through a piece of paper with a single stroke. I have been searching for a knife sharpener that was exactly what it claimed to be and I have just found it. I have "resharpen" all of my knives that I had tried to sharpen with various other shaperner and this one worked quickly to return my knives to their former glory and a few of them to even better condition than before. Thanks to Chef's Choice for providing a tool that will keep my kitchen knives sharp for a long time hopefully.

This product REALLY sharpens knives. Read the manual, understand the manual, and then and only then proceed to sharpen your knives. So many of the other reviews most definitely failed to read the manual. As far as scratches on your knives, mine had a couple faint ones but, if your knives are heirloom, or cost $1000 each, you shouldn't be using this product anyway. I'm not going to cry over a couple scratches on my JA Henckels knives.Customer Review: Great Sharpener and Fun to Use

We love this sharpener. We've taken it to several friends' houses and sharpened their knives as well! It's easy to use, but the instructions take a few readings to figure out. Also, as you draw the knife across the sharpener some bits of plastic do sometimes peel up. But this is a quality product and I'm glad I purchased. I bought this model 15 years ago. It worked fine but they eventually wear out and do not sharpen. I bought this replacement unit and am amazed at the improvement. The knifes are like razors. after your first basic sharpening I give this a couple swipes per month and they get back to their razor state. Wife says that I am getting them too sharp - but I say, what else is a knife sharpener for? Works on on surrated too.
