I love this sharpener. It is easy to learn to use so that a non skilled non professional can sharpen their knives. They can keep them sharpened without trying to find a professional and paying high prices to keep those serated knives sharp. I had been wary of ruining our expensive knives with a do-it yourself sharpener, but after reading the Cooks Illustrated review of this sharpener, I was convinced. This works very well. easy to use and puts a razor edge on a knife in less than a minute. I used this to successfully sharpen some knives that were hard to get an edge on. I have never been pleased with the edge I got with a steel but this machine seems foolproof and produces dangerously sharp knives simply and quickly - bioth straight edge and serated. I waited a long time to buy this sharpener and now wonder why. It's the best accessory I could have bought to go along with my pricey knives. The sharpener works great, and the instructions weren't nearly as "complicated" as I'd been led to believe. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.
