I purchased this unit to monitor our RV Fridge/Freezer. The magnet mount of the main unit allowed me to attach it to the stove vent hood without any tools. The Remote Sensors suctioned to the refrigerator securely. However, the clip was required for the freezer sensor due to the rough ride of the RV dislodging the suction cup while traveling.
This is a great purchase for any RV owner! The ability to monitor the temps without opening the fridge is invaluable. Especially when traveling and your unit switches from Propane to/from Electric.
Don't cheap out and go with normal alkaline batteries, the lithiums provide the best wireless range and performance hands down.

The Chaney Wireless Refrigerator and Freezer Thermometer performed all functions in an excellent manner. The only caveat is to give the thermometer time to reach equilibrium with your Refrigerator and Freezer. This can take from 15 to 20 minutes depending on the differential. I also verified the temperatures with another digital thermometer from another manufacture. The temperatures were within one degree between the devices.
I did use Lithium Batteries in both the Refrigerator and Freezer Sensors.
In summary the device not only gives the current temperature but indicates both the high and low and most of all will function when the power is off to the appliance which is an important feature.

I bought it to monitor 2 freezers - the big one in the basement and the one in the kitchen. I mounted the display in the stairway to the basement so it can be heard from the livingroom and basement TV room. It had no problem sending or receiving signals. Initially it didn't cool off fast enough for the monitor and the alarms went off while set at the factory defaults. I had to bump up the alarm temps for a while until they cooled off enough. I see my Refrig/Freezer freezer can warm to +5 degrees and only cools to 0, but the big basement one ranges from -5 to 0. Neat.Customer Review: Nice piece

Shipment was a little slower than I would have liked, but these can be used for either fridges or freezers or both. The product description makes it sound like one remote is only for a fridge and the other remote is only for a fridge. The alarms can be adjusted so that either remote works on either appliance. Nice range, too. Alarm does not have to be real close for accurate monitoring, meaning the appliance(s) can be in one area and the alarm some distance away in a convenient location Nice product. Just bought my 3rd Wireless 00985 and mailed it to my girlfriend and mother who easily had it up and running with a little support over the phone. They love to see that their freezer and fridge are at optimum degree's to keep food as it should be...fresh. I love this product and can only say "Gotta Get One"! Tried several others but no luck. Make sure to use the litium AA batteries for the transmitters you place in the freezer and fridge. Litium can withstand extreme tempetures.
