Customer Review: Fuzzy board...not smooth!

I was searching for a cutting board in a good size that comes with a groove, came across this and according to the reviews, everything seems positive. Boy, was I disappointed!I've carefully oiled the board with mineral oil almost everyday for the first week I bought the board, and wash it with mild soap and water as instructed. However, there seems to be fuzz (or rather splinters!) on both surfaces of the board. I tried to oil the board again, but it still seems dry (though it has never been used). I couldn't risk having my food stuck with splinters from the board, and therefore had never gotten around to use it. I'd rather go with a Henckels board anytime.
A waste of money, would not recommend.

Unit dimensions: 16 x 11 x 3/4.This sturdy butcher-block board is made from select, non-endangered, self-sustaining American hardwood. Made by Catskill Craftsmen, of New York, this board has smoothly rounded edges and a channel along the edge that's deep enough to hold any juices released during cutting. The wood won't splinter or dull knives. Take good care of the wood by hand washing and occasionally coating with butcher-block oil. --Dale Steinke
