Customer Review: Cat door helps dog climb the gate

I don't recommend this gate if your dog is a climber. We bought this for our standard poodle who has climbed all of our other gates. This gate worked for about two days until the dog realized she could use the bar across the cat door as a foothold to climb over the gate. Wish we had thought of that before we bought the gate. The cat door is a nice feature for our cat, but our dog can squeeze through it, too, so we can't use it. Hence, our dog has managed to defeat the two features we liked best--the height and the cat door. It is a nice gate overall and I think we can order extra bars to go across the top. I'll follow another reviewer's advice about making the cat access narrower somehow so we can use that, too.

Carlson extra tall walk thru gate with pet door allows smaller pets to pass while containing larger ones. The all steel construction is chew proof and great for pets.
