This gate is great and has done its job well. The small opening is big enough for my dachshund, who is 16 pounds. I've been using it now for a month and have had no problems with it. It opens easily. The only thing I would change is the little door has a little latch which allows you to lock it. At times this can prevent my small dog from going through the gate even if not locked because it will hit against the bars of the large door. In other words it is not a swinging small door. I did however tie string to one of its bars and one of the bars to the large door which allows for it to stay open all the time. So problem solved. I had no problems assembling it. It came together quite well. I would recommend this to anyone who has large dogs who like to jump on furniture like the small dogs.Customer Review: Good gate for the price

I just bought this at our local PetSmart and came online to see if I could have gotten a better price (answer is YES - Amazon is $20 bucks less than at the store - but I needed it today). The gate comes with two extensions which make the gate wider - I did not use either on as the install is in a standard door. The gate installs with four pressure knobs on each of the corners and you will not be able to use the gate until pressure forces the gate together on the top. All in all, I think it took less than 5 minutes to get in in the door and operating and it seems high enough quality. My cat is using the door already and the gate is keeping my cocker out of the room, as intended. I would definitely recommend this unit, especially at the lower online price!!Customer Review: Use It For Work

I bought this gate for work, as I have been blessed to work at a pet friendly establishment. I have used it for over 2 years now and it is still going strong. If I had a smart and big dog, which I don't, only a 19lbs smart dog, I would be a little nervous, as I am pretty sure he would have been able to use his weight to move the gate out and sneak under. It comes up to just below my hip (I am 5'7"). I have never had any malfunctioning problems. I don't believe I bought it for this price, and remember actually paying in the $60-$80 range. This is a steal and happened come across it today on Amazon and thought to review it. With too much pressure given to the sides it sometimes bows, but that would be the only complaint.Customer Review: Great Gates

My wife and I have been using these gates for the past three years. We got them to allow our cats into rooms that we do not want our daughter in. They have worked great. Most of the negative reviews I have seen are people who did not follow the instructions. The gates are easy to install, do little to no damage to walls and are very sturdy. The one complain that would make sense is that a mid size dog may fit through the pet door on this gate. The gate may not be a good fit if you are trying to separate cats and mid size dogs.
If you are trying to separate young children from small pets and/or you want a sturdy gate that attaches securely without damaging the walls, this is a good choice.

This is the best gate I've ever bought. The gate is used to block off a room for my cat, so the dog won't bother her as much. Before, we had a pressure baby gate that was ridiculous to climb over. Would never buy another gate after this one. The dog used to jump up and put his feet on the baby gate we had before, making it fall over sometimes. Now, it's just high enough that he doesn't bother it. He tries to stick his head through the little door at the bottom. But, that's no problem.
If something ever happened to this gate now, I'd definitely reorder a new one. Best decision I've ever made.
I'd highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to make a "safe" room for their cat!
