Customer Review: Great Outlet for a Psychopath

Despite a slightly misleading title for this product, I'm a fan.
I was expecting the holder to be something other than plastic, but it does have a weighted bottom and the knife slots are magnetic, meaning the knives are secured... coupled with the blades being partially covered while allowing the blades to air dry, it's a great design.
As for the knives themselves, they are a decent steel, and come reasonably sharp. I've been using them regularly for a couple months now, and the edges have held. Not bad for $70.
But that's not why you should buy this product. There's something deeply satisfying about stabbing a miniature man in the face with a paring knife. It goes in so smooth, and just feels... right.
...not that I encourage violence.

The only weird thing is the plastic bits that hold the knives in the back of the man, but otherwise it definitely gets a lot of attention. I think my friend who had this might have removed the plastic things, but I'm not sure.
The knives are good quality, at least for a person who doesn't know the first thing about cooking... I followed someone's advice and I make sure to wash and dry them right after using, and they haven't shown any stains.
It is pretty big, and lightweight like someone mentioned, but I have it up on a shelf next to the microwave, and it hasn't fallen of it's own accord. If it were accessible by cats I would probably be worried.
Overall, I'm very happy with the item, I will probably buy a few for holiday presents.

I saw this product on an MTV Cribs show (Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s home) and laughed so hard I knew if I ever found it I would buy it! A friend found it for me here on Amazon. I bought it for the comic relief and I still smile everytime I see it. That alone is worth the price. But beyond that, the knives are awesome. They cut very well! Taking the advice of other reviewers I hand wash them and have NO problems with it at all. It does take up quite a bit of counter space which I also planned for. (I did my homework). The ONLY reason I give it a 4 rather than a 5 is that my previous knife set included a set of very good scissors which is extremely convenient in the kitchen. Just received it yesterday. I was shocked at first as I really expected the "man" to be heavy and maybe coated in a rubbery substance (not sure why I thought this, but I did). I was wrong, he is relatively lightweight hollow plastic and if you screw him into the base too tightly, he will split at the seams of his legs. However, he still looks really cool on the counter and he is a monster and takes up much space- knives are not great, but of descent quality and should be Ok for average household uses (I have 2 $150 Wusthof knives I use anyway for serious cutting). All in all, for $69 I am satisfied with the purchase.Customer Review: Good!

This is a wonderful product. All my friends get a kick out of it when they see it. It's lighter than I thought which makes me a tad uneasy with three cats who like to knock everything over and a little pricey for such a piece but it's nice overall.
The knives are even better than I expected. For the reviews who said they rusted they have obviously never been taught the basics of knife care. Even "stainless steel" rusts when left to soak or to air dry. Knives must be hand washed immediately and dried on a clean towel.
I would recommend the product.
